Kosciusko (pronounced kozzy-os-ko but affectionatly known as "Kossy") is an Australian outback RPG based on the Silver Brumby by Elyne Mitchell. Primarily a brumby (feral horse) RPG you can also play any other Australian wildlife! You're also allowed a limited number of men with their domestic animals.
We're based on the idea of the Silver Brumby series but we provide all the information you need to play. We do not support canon characters here, we're set after their stories, but their legends live on and they are often mentioned.

22/06/09 -- Again, the rules got a bit of an update. This time it's the way fights work. No if a stallion has less than half of the points of the stallion they are challange, they will definitely lose. I've also updated the board descriptions a little as well as adding a few new boards, so speak up if you notice a typo! 04/02/09 -- Updated the rules a smidgen. Herd: None Offspring: None Personality: A tomboy, very quick to judge and puts herself before everyone else. Althea values her 'freedom' and would rather risk being caught by man then living with a stallion. She'll either fight any who try to gain her, or flee. She finds it difficult to make friends, and only has a few, but gets along with mares occasionally. Not suited to herd-life, but is slowly beginning to get used to the idea.
Mature and no-nonsense, only after she trusts you will she laugh at any humour she finds funny. Althea is also quite the story teller, and although she rarely ever gets to, she loves hearing or telling stories. History: Born to an elderly mother and a cruel father, Althea was pushed around by her father and the boys. In a strange relationship, she was rather close to her father and not her mother, who died not long after she was weaned. Althea grew dominant over most her half brothers, but was loyal to Nandalie before he left. Not long after, she fallowed to look for him, but got lost. When she found her way back to the herd, they had moved on, and she decided not to follow them.

Herd: None Offspring: None Personality: Pirilah is rather like a mix of both her parents. Secretive, keeping herself hidden and locked away. She does not like to reveal things about herself, even though she has no secrets to hide- or does she? A young enigma of a mare, she is looking for one stallion to devote herself to, not just the first one she comes across. Very smart, quiet and calculating. Not necessarily cold, but she isn't the friendliest mare you'll meet. Her behavior, when in the open, is often more like a feral horse then most brumbies around, she can be completely savage at times. History: Born as the first and only child of Kinta, Pirilah grew up as most foals do and left when the time was right. She finds her parents, mother especially, a nag in her mind and loves to be away from them, but used to occasionally visit. Then, they were caught in the Brumby Run. Pirilah is now looking for a stallion.

Herd: No mares yet Offspring: None yet Personality: A little cynical, Yalkara is a wise stallion, fully matured and at his full strength. He appears to be a cold and thoughtless guy but is really very loving, wanting mares for his herd again. Gentle around foals, he'll fight for his family and friends if needed.
In a nutshell, noble, gentle and smart with a humourous side. History: He grew up normally, one of the bullies out of the young colts. He wasn't respected in his home herd, but wasn't punished. He grew up fine, his father chased him away, and since then he has changed his ways slowly. However, he never truely lost his cockyness until he had his mares and foals taken away by another stallion after being defeated in a huge, bloody fight.

Herd: Tingara's Offspring: Cobalt(Captured), Arika(Stillborn), Cooma Personality: A bright, gleeful mare who doesn't always make the best decisions. Happy with her herd, she doesn't seem to socialise much outside a few rough friends, and becomes very attatched to her foals. After a time, like most mares, she will forget her foals. But this takes longer for her than the usual mare.
She is a little snobby and prideful, proud of herself and her appearence. Although she isn't the most devious of horses, Valatone can certainly pick up an insult and retaliate. History: Valatone was born into a small herd in a very cold Winter. She lived happily with her mother until one day she was caught by a wrangler. Valatone was alone for a while, and starving to death until she was found by a kind mare and brought up along side her foster brother. When she was an older filly, she wandered away from the herd one day to explore and found Tingara, soon joining his herd as his first mare.
Not long after, she had her first foal and son, Cobalt. As all mares and their foals, they were close, but they soon became very seperate beings when Cobalt drifted off from the herd with his half brothers. Alone and saddened by it, she tried to forget him.
The next Winter, Valatone was pregnant again. But this time, something went wrong and her first daughter was stillborn. Deeply moved by this, she spent a long time trying to wake up the foal before coaxed away by Tingara. Spending time after that alone, moody and not trusting, she eventually came out of this state and had her next foal, Cooma. Things are brightening up for this young mare as life goes on.
