"I might come to the valley sometime, to see my brother of course," Dilali said cheekily. She looked at Aleo and her eyes accidentally met his and she quickly dropped her gaze feeling her face go hot. "It was nice seeing you again Aleo," she said shyly. Dilali shy? What was going on with her!? She let her thoughts wander. Aleo, she loved the way his name just rolled off her tongue. Once again she shook these thoughts out of her head.

Aleo felt rather disappointed that Dilali had turned him down again, but he wouldn't force her. He didn't want another episode like at the lake. "Very well." He said in a good-natured tone, "please say hello to Kessa for me. And... Er, please take care of yourself." Before leaving to go back to Binda and Badu, he quickly touched noses with Dilali and trotted away with his mares, glancing back over his shoulder at the grey filly before he left.

Dilali wished they could have touched noses forever. His touch was so soft and gentle. She watched him leave, breathless. She wanted to tell him that this would have turned out nothing like the lake. 'I wish the lake had never happened,' she thought bitterly but then caught herself. If the trouble at the lake had never happened then Dilali would never have met Kessa or Aleo. She would go to where Aleo grazed one day but right now all she could manage to do was whisper, "Goodbye," to his retreating figure.

Bakoli gulped and headed backwards, not going out of sight though. He needed to watch this fight and learn. Not that he liked it.

Binda had spent the whole exchange looking back and forth at the two of them as though she was watching a rather furious cricket match. So, Aleo was sweet on the grey was he? Well, the roan wasn’t so sure she liked this filly. To give herself something to be distracted about so she didn’t do anything that made Aleo annoyed, she ended up stranding closer to Badu. The bay was shorter than they where, but she had a sweet little face and was, dare she say it, cute.
Finally Aleo went to leave and Binda was once again instantly attached to his side like an adhesive. ”Well, I don’t like her,” she scoffed haughtily, giving Dilali a dirty look. ”No right to treat you like that. What is it with all these stubborn mares lately? It’s the way of the wild that mares are fought for and won. If every mare got picky and choosy we’d all die out.”

Badu followed along quickly falling in step behind Binda and Aleo, her nose nuzzling Binda's rump momentarily.
"Aw, don't be mean, he seems to really like her. We should help! then we'd have a new friend too."
