A handsome blue roan grazed on the sparse amount of grass in a secluded clearing in the middle of the Ash Forest. His rather long mane and tail were black, an his build was tall and sinewy. Dark brown eyes swept the clearing from time to time; there was no other living creature in the clearing save a cackling kookaburra in a tall gum at the edge. The stallion was young, only three and a half years of age. He had no herd because he had wanted to spend a couple of years roaming the mountains and valleys, but now he craved the company of other wild horses. Barwon flicked away a fly that had settled on his rump with a sweep of his ebony tail, and went back to grazing with a snort. A few minutes later, the musky scent of another brumby drifted up to his sensitive nose. Finishing a particularly tough cud with a gulp, the blue roan lifted his head and trotted toward the smell. His ears flicked forward as another brumby came hurtling toward him, and he gave a startled whinny.....

Adoni had been wandering around the country side for a while now. After he had met up with a young couple of horses who where playing about in the light rain; Adoni continued to head lower and deeper into the High Country. He did not know why he did this, he probably should have headed for more familiar territory like the Cascades or something. But the newly found Ash Forest had perked interest in the young colt, and he could not help but feel curious as to what was down there.
The landscape had slowly changed. Tall charcoal coloured trees began to form around the pale champange colt and had soon blocked the sun from him. This did not bother Adoni so much, he seemed to know the way pretty well; even though he'd never been in the Ash Forest before. A lone Kookabura to Adoni's right started laughing. The cackling laughter made Adoni grin as it soon became contagious. Kookabura's were pretty birds, a mixture of soft brown, white and blue. Adoni had always respected the happy birds, and when they laughed, it always brightened his day. Adoni took a step forward, looking up to see the Kookabura look at him with its peircing eyes. Suddenly, the ground gave way to him; he jumped in surprise at the sudden downhill grade. Unable to regain his feet properly, Adoni started galloping at an unbearable speed down the hill.
His heart thundered and the whites of his eyes showed. He could not stop himself completely, it would mean him tumbling forward and possibly breaking his neck, or leg. He had to keep going until the hill leveled out. The sound of the kookabura's laugh was far behind him and all the other familiar sounds where drowned out in his sudden panic. He must have looked like a lunatic, galloping down this hill at neckbreak speed. Even though it seemed to take forever, the ground slowly began to level, and just as Adoni was about to hit level ground, a blue roan horse stepped into his way. Adoni whinnied in fright and warning for the other, but the blue roan just stood there. Suddenly as though it was a slow reflex action, the stallion gave a startled whinny.
Every thing went into slow motion, Adoni hit the brakes to try and avoid hitting the other stallion hard, but as he did his long legs suddenly crossed one another and Adoni went tumbling into the other horse.

Barwon picked himself up, snorting. "Sorry," he neighed, remembering his manners. "I didn't see you until too late."
OOC: No it's fine!

Adoni fell to the ground with a hard thud, he skidded along the ground for a bit, until he came to a brute halt. He laid there for a few minutes, eyes closed, breathing heavily. He slowly lifted his head, and glanced around, his legs shaking uncontrollably, even though he wasn't even standing yet. "Sorry," Adoni snorted, and slowly began to pick himself up off the ground. "I didn't see you until too late." Was he still talking? Adoni knew he shouldn't be rude to the stallion, but he couldn't help but feel annoyed at him for not even moving out of the way. Pain ripped through his left side; making him wince when he put pressure on his front left leg. Cuts were covered all over him, some where bleeding others only portrayed red lines. "Its ok." Adoni stammered, slowly putting weight on both left legs, to make sure he hadn't broken them. OOC||

Barwon had a few cuts of his own, but not many. As soon as he saw the other stallion get up, he nickered, "I know a stream not far from here where we could wash the blood off." He said this because the flies were alread gathering, settling on both of them in groups. The blue roan swatted them away with his tail, but they came back.

Adoni glanced at the stallion with his pale brown eyes for a moment. His body began to ache all over and there was a huge red patch smeered over his left cheek and all over his left side. Sighing, Adoni nodded, his flaxen mane falling gently over his neck and his thin forelock fell over his eyes. "Lead the way."

Barwon nodded and trotted forwards, in the direction he remembered the stream being. After five minutes, they came to a fairly deep stream, that was no more than forty centimeters wide. "Come on!" he whinnied to the other young stallion. The blue roan then waded in, rolled on his back in the running water, then jumped up again. Barwon was named for rivers, and streams were not much different. He stood in the middle with a sigh. He loved water.

Adoni struggled to keep up with the blue roan as he trotted away. His left side hurt so bad, but he managed to limp forward and follow him at a reasonable pace.
When they reached the stream five minutes later, Adoni stopped immediately; feeling so exhuasted by his crazy run earlier. He followed the blue roan out into the running stream, and worked his way against the current to go up a bit further to avoid the stallions flailing legs. When he was a reasonable distance from the stallion, Adoni stopped and for a moment watched the freezing water tug around his sore limbs. With an exhausted sigh, he dropped down into the water, and gently rolled onto each side. He laid there for a moment, letting the water caress his sore body and numb the pain into a dull throb. Then he got up; shaking the water off of his coat, he drifted, with the current this time, back down to where the blue roan stood. Feeling more lively, as the cold water washed away his tired feeling, he playfully lunged forward to give the stallion a sharp nip on the wither. "That, is for not moving out of my way." He said, before darting away, a smile drawn across his lips. "You have not given me your name yet stranger." He called over his shoulder, he waded out of the water and onto the soft braken of the ground. His knees buckled when he found a nice soft patch of ground and began to roll. His long gangly legs flying about and catching on the sun, creating a mysterious metallic shine to fall across his coat.

Barwon followed the other stallion slowly, then lay down in a patch of dirt nearby, with scant, half- scorched grass growing on it, and hit the gound with a bump, his legs flailing every which way as he rolled. "My name's Barwon. I was so named because I have always loved water, and was born beside it. What do they call you?" he enquired, wriggling his back to give himself a massage.

Sighing contently, Adoni shifted onto his right side to avoid the stinging pain of his recent cuts. His ears flickered slightly back and forth as he listened to the stallion. Barwon. Twisting his head around to see the stallion, Adoni replied, "I am Adoni. Named for the sun." He rested his head on the soft dirt and closed his eyes for a moment. "You would see why once you see me in the sun." He murmured, blowing out the dirt that tried to fall into his mouth.
