Ears pinned flat against his head, Wirinun bared his teeth and shook his head at Thalera's remark. His self-restraint was strong, and after the fight he had just had with the older stallion, it needed to be so that he didn't defy his yearning for peace. The painted stallion was ready to rush back down the hill and give the sooty beast a swift kick to the chest, if Illoura hadn't done the damage first. But when the silver mare latched her teeth onto the stallion's rump, Wirinun's urges subsided. The beautiful mare took off, Wirinun bowing his head as she raced past him, and he let her leave the mess of Brumbies behind. With all that had happened, he was willing to do the same.
Wirinun took his gaze away from the dumb-struck Thalera and turned to the hiding place of his previous opponent's mares. He would not confront them. After all, he had given up on his need for companionship, and the sooner he could escape from the clearing the better. The young stallion was also not willing to be involved in anything that could aggravate Thalera further.
He was just about to take his leave when the voice of the young black filly stopped him. 'So, where do you go now, wise Wirinun?' Pengana asked, and the young stallion closed his heavy eyelids so that he could think. In truth, he had no destination. Wirinun had nowhere to go and no home to go to. It took effort to open his eyes once again with that reality haunting his mind, but Wirinun did and raised his head to acknowledge Pengana.
The wind, his only true companion, rushed through the trees and whirled around the young stallion, tousling his mane and tail and soothing his bruised body. Wirinun sighed, breathing in the cool air as it blew past him - and continued on its journey to the mountains. The mountains... That was where he was originally headed. The safety they seemed to offer comforted him and he figured the wind knew where it was going, so he should too.
"I'm headed...north. Yes, north,"[/b] he said softly. Wirinun did not care if that was where Illoura had gone; chances were in favor of them not coming across each other again, and he wanted to explore the mountains before the snowfall. "I ask the same of you, black one? Do you know where you shall go next? If need be you may accompany me, although I warn you this will not be quite a friendly journey."[/b] His normally bright eyes were dark and somber. Wirinun was exhausted, and it showed.

Pengana listened to Wirinun's reply, then neighed, "I do not know where I shall go next, but if you are sure that I will not be a hindrance to you, then I would be glad to accompany you. As for the journey no being friendly, well, I have experienced a lot of hard, lonely journeys on my own. I was thought to be a bad omen, because my mother died giving birth to me, and she was my father's favourite mare, so I was cast from the herd when I was able to eat grass." The black filly did not know why she was telling the painted stallion this; he was almost a complete stranger, and they were opposites, but she felt that she could trust him.

OOC: Ballie I’m a little concerned at the way you reacted to this fight between Pengana and Illoura. Pengana accepted the challenge from Illoura rather than running away, and as she has half the fighting skill of Illoura, it is not possible that she’d come out of the fight unscathed. You’ll notice that Wirinun has some damage, and Thalera is not completely unharmed also. Illoura is the only one here who would be fine after a fight, as she had enough fight points to auto win. Please remember that although the actual damage taken in the fight is not calculated by the staff, you should respond to the opponent’s post and take the most likely damage. Your characters are not invincible. To ensure that you understand, Pengana is now very sore, and she will be lame for a week at least. Also, remember what we’ve said about posting order before. You should always wait your turn, it’s polite Thalera was enamoured by Illoura as she approached, and he reached out his nose to greet her. But instead for his trouble he got a hard bite on the rump! He squealed and flinched, glaring at Illoura in outrage. To add insult to injury she turned and ran away! Thalera stomped a hoof and called after her but she vanished as silver brumbies were inclined to do.
Furious, the stallion stomped back up to where he had left his fillies. His rump stung from Illoura’s bite and his legs were stiffening from the fight. To make matters worse, his fillies were not where he had left them. He called his frustration to the sky, and started rooting around for some sign of where his fillies might have gone, a dark cloud hanging over his head.

OOC: I'm just going to finish Wirinun off here, Yaruka can go after and her two and Thal can figure stuff out once Wirinun and Pengana are gone lol.
A sudden twitch in his neck as the painted stallion prepared to respond to the small black filly sent waves of pain rushing over his withers. Wirinun flinched and slowly rotated his head to find the sores on his neck where Thalera had bitten him were open and bleeding. Realizing he hadn't properly assessed the damage he had taken from the fight, the young stallion quickly did so and found a large welt on his hock that could become a hassle. Other than that, and the previous findings on his withers, his pelt was only lacking in a few areas.
"Let us be on our way then,"[/i] Wirinun said, barely in a whisper. He wanted to create a fair distance between him and the sooty stallion as soon as possible, for he feared he would collapse from exhaustion before long. Wirinun took one last look around the clearing, and then bolted up the rest of the hill, with Pengana in tow.
The looming silhouettes of the mountains as his only guide, the patterned stallion made his way across the land in an awkward stride. The strong breeze kept him on his feet and propelled him forwards, while the encouraging presence of Pengana drove his mentality in the same direction. He had chosen not to comment on her past; he did not have the intention of seeming rude, but he had no experience with a rough up-bringing and figured it was best to not focus on a rough past while a bright future lay ahead. Besides that point, Wirinun was more than certain that he was incapable of forming a proper sentence.
And so the young stallion left the Mountain Ash Forest, accompanied by the hardy black filly, with every hint of contentment that had existed in his body replaced by the cold sores of battle and reality.

OOC: Sorry, Tiggs. I sometimes forget, 'cos on all the other rps that I'm involved with, they just let whoever is on at that time post. But this is a good idea. I remember on another site, two people ad done about a page of posting on a thread which loads of people we involved in while I wasn't there. About the injury, I'll modify my last post, and put some of the details in this one. Sorry, I'm posting out of turn again, but I want to wrap up Pengana's part in this thread.
BIC: Pengana dipped her head and followed the patterned stallion. Like him, she was not left untouched by her battle. Two of her legs were swollen and sore, one with a gash running down it, causing her to limp. There were a few nasty cuts and grazes, but the black filly did not complain. What good would that do her, or Wirinun, for that matter?
It was he, the stallion who trotted beside her, who had been most sorely damaged, from what Pengana could observe. Not just his body, but his mind would have been affected by this ordeal. He would now know the complete brutal truth of what a stallion would do to obtain a beautiful mare, that life wasn't as peaceful as it was the majority of the time. The strong black filly set her eyes on the land ahead; Wirinun's silent presence at her side comforting her slightly.

OOC: Thats great Ballie, thanks Sometimes posting out of turn works for situations like this, or if there's a large thread with more than one conversation happening at once, but we want to avoid it for the most part. That instance you described is what we're trying to prevent I'll just wait for Yaruka, then we can wrap this thread!

Bindaree and Wyralla still stood in the copse of trees, one listening anxiously to the sounds of the fight, the other snorting impatiently. Three guesses which was which. As Bindaree let out another anxious sigh, her chestnut companion turned swiftly to nip her. "Relax," she said "I'm sure that big oaf of yours is fine." Bindaree nodded, too nervous to defend the sooty stallion as Wyralla added under her breath, "He's too dense to feel much pain anyways." The younger filly was growing increasingly impatient with this situation. It seemed the stallion had completely forgotten about his first two mares, and she had half a mind to just leave right there and now, it was only the fact that she knew Bindaree would never come along that stopped her. SHe couldn't leave the poor blue roan to deal with Thalera all by herself.
OOC: really quick, but hey there's not much for them to say/do at the moment and I just wanted to add this so as not to hold up the thread. sorry for the awfulness of the post :/

Thalera stomped through the trees, grumbling under his breath. Finally he found enough sense to use his nose, and he picked up their trail to find them hiding not far from where he’d left them. The sooty stallion stamped a hoof and tossed his head.
“What are you doing? Don’t hide where I can’t find you.” Neglecting to think that if he couldn’t find them, then no other stallion could either. If Thalera was clever enough to realise, they had actually done the clever thing by hiding. Huffing, Thalera bustled around behind them and moved them out on the nearby path.
“We’re going to find some grazing, so stay in sight this time.” He scolded, “I can’t keep an eye on you and fight. Did you even see me win? There’s no point fighting if you don’t watch!” He rambled on some more, and got lost a few times before they made it to the top of the valley and out of the oppressive trees.
