Maluka answered Nevada's promise with one of his own. He promised that he would protect this mare from him, with his life. Maluka stopped galloping when he thought he was close. His eyes strained for something silver. There she was, as beautiful as ever. "We meet again," he said softly, offering his nose in greeteing. "I fear I didn't learn your name last time we meet and I don't want to go on without knowing your name."

Barina heard the grey's response to the strange stallion's call and felt a rush of warmth and gratitude towards the grey. Maybe he did really care after all. She didn't know why, but she hadn't expected that kind of loyalty from him. Of course, it was hard to tell what others really thought of you when you were an unusual or prized colouring. But she thought that just maybe he might care for her for real. She waited in the trees, listening to him come closer. Then he stepped out of the trees proudly and extended his nose to her in greeting. Trembling, Barina touched his nose with her own. "I fear I didn't learn your name last time we meet and I don't want to go on without knowing your name" he said quietly. Barina was glad he bothered to learn her name, it was more than some colts had done back where she came from "I am called Barina, for the summit of the mountain where I was born," she replied, then suddenly shy she ducked her head coyly "What may I call you?" she asked, her soft brown eyes watching him closely.

Maluka smiled warmly at Barina. Barina, what a beautiful name. "My name is Maluka, what is means is not all that important," he said gently. Something about this mare made him feel different inside. Normally he was hard and uncaring but he liked Barina a lot, and not just for her colouring. He smiled again and softly rubbed his head against hers, trying to tell her subconciously that he cared pretty deeply for her. She was the bad guy's one weekness.

"My name is Maluka, what is means is not all that important," said the grey stallion gently, then rubbed his head against hers softly. Barina nuzzled him back, happy that he was being good to her and glad she finally knew his name. She did wonder why he didn't tell her what his name meant, most mares gave their foals certain names for a reason. But she decided to let it go, he was right. The meaning of a name wasn't all that important. And besides, horses change right? Maybe his mother's first impression of him had been wrong. She bumped his nose gently, then suddenly nipped him playfully on the neck. She moved backwards and did a couple dancing steps, tossing her head and inviting him to play. The wind blew around her and lifted her mane, flagging her tail. Snorting, she bucked and reared and then took off at a fast canter through the trees. She whinnied over her shoulder, calling for him to join her in her race with the wind, and letting him know that she wasn't leaving him, she simply wanted to have fun and share this moment with him.

Her touch was so soft. Maluka felt as if he was standing on air and when she nipped him, it felt as if his heart skipped a beat. He watched as she danced, the sun made her coat shine silver and her mane and tail glitter. Everything about Barina was so beautiful. Maluka watched her race off and soon he joined her. The two horses matched each other stride for stride. A silver and grey racing the wind together. Maluka called joyously to the sky, a rare side of Maluka had been exposed only for Barina to ever see.

OOC: Sorry it took me so long to reply, I've been busy _____________________________________________________________________________________
Barina nickered happily when Maluka joined her in her race with the wind and the two horses ran and played for quite some time before eventually they came to a cliff face and stream where they could no longer run swiftly for lack of space . Barina paused and lowered her elegant head to take a quick sip of water, feeling the cool liquid run down her throat and course through her body, reminding her of the swift waters that flowed down the mountain in this season, spring. Excitement making her heart beat faster she looked at Maluka "Where to now?" she asked him, wondering if he had a usual grazing grounds or shelter for the night but reflecting that it didn't matter anyway, she'd be happy to run and play and dance all night, all cross this new country, if he was too.
