Corowa realised that this mare intended to lead Rezar away. Something had passed between the two, something that she was not a part of, and it was this perhaps, that would take her mate from her. With a fearful snort, the mare’s ears pricked as a frightened young colt emerged from the mist. His panic seemed alive as it spread to the mare, and she was suddenly, terribly afraid. Indeed, one could almost hear the whisper of death in the wind, could see it in these brown, churning waters, and feel it in the darkest shadows of the bush.
"Rezar, please do not leave me," Corowa said. Yet what stallion, unbounded by his pride, would not follow such a mare, this mare of the sun that possessed that same queer quality as Rezar. Filled with restlessness, Corowa wanted to be away from this place, away from this mare and the watching creatures of the bush, who waited and wondered at the strangeness of this meeting.
Only then did Corowa move away, knowing that she would never have the strength to hold such a stallion. No, he would follow this silver wraith, this mare who was beautiful, and one to be hunted. Sadly, Corowa turned, moving toward the thick timber that grew along the rim of the gully. The south pulled, and the mare lifted her head and answered.
ooc: corowa is very timid :] she doesn't like strangers

Bakoli only earned a momentary attention from Rezar when he came on the scene. The horse was young, and had no intention to move in on either Corowa or Kessa so he was quick to be dismissed in Rezar’s mind. Still, he was an oddity; there was the smell of another stallion on him and seemed terrified.
No, Bakoli wasn’t his primary concern, Corowa was. He had more of a responsibility to her than to Kessa at the moment, even though it looked like she was going to ruin his chances with the pretty silver filly. In fact, he was quite alarmed when she started leaving as though defeated, and he reared up with a worried snort, ”I’m sorry,” he said regretfully to Kessa before darting around to follow. Hopefully she would not take it as an offence.
Rezar brushed past Corowa as he came up next to her and swerved smoothly around to block her path, same way he would as though he was heading off a cow that had separated from the mob, except without the aspect of confrontation that normally went with it. ”Corowa,” he pleaded, not looking angry or annoyed with her. ”You do know I wouldn’t go without you,” However, if she continued to do this there was going to be a problem. ”But I do hope you understand that it can’t be just you and me forever.”

Bakoli nodded and fallowed Kessa. He noticed the mare who seemed to be more frightened then himself and calmed down a little. He was still afraid of the burning fog that surrounded them all, and the smell of death. The others, however, seemed fairly calm in this haunting place. It was like a bad omen to him. Then he heard the sound of scrabbiling paws along the ruined bank of the creek. The sound caught his attention and he turned around to find a mature, male dingo with a gleaming ginger-gold coat and white chest. His eyes met the dingo's, deep brown, and then he drew his attention away and turned back to Kessa.
Bold had fallowed the smell of dead for a while until he stumbled upon the foggy disaster. He wasn't scared, but he was watching the brumbies with interest. He wandered over to the side of the creek where the dead wallabies lay and sniffed them, hoping to catch the smell of fresh meat. Unfortunately, the only thing he found was rotting flesh, and turned his nose away. Then he howled, gloomily into the mist and turned his eyes to the brumbies. "Nothing like this has happened before," he said.
