OOC: as I'm [kind of] directly involved in the fight going on I'm going to post now if that's alright with everyone? if not just let me know and I'll move my reply
BIC: Barina cautiously let out a breath of relief as Tingara's surprised and angry gaze passed over her imobile figure. The snow truely was a blessing at times. For her at least. It was too bad that Maluka had enough black on him not to be able to fully disappear into the blizzard.
She was brought back from her thoughts to the fight at hand as Tingara screamed in anger and launched himself at Maluka. Barina flung up her head worriedly, she had not anticpated such rage on the black's part. SHe hadn't made the situation worse had she? Maluka fell to the ground and Barina let out a cry of horror that she was unable to surpress. Quickly she sidestepped, hoping that the black wouldn't trace the sound to her. But the game was really up now, she had to do something.
"How is this going to end brother?" said Tingara "With my death I suppose," replied Maluka with a weakness that scared Barina more than any of the blood she had seen during the fight. She stepped forward slowly, beautiful even in her distress until she stood over Maluka's head, facing Tingara. At this distance even she was visible, at least as a general figure. And dark, soul-searching eyes. She looked into Tingara's eyes, pleading without words for him to spare Maluka's life. She didn't know the history between the two brothers and she didn't care, she only knew that Maluka had been kind to her, saving her life even. And he had sired her foal. A colt that would need a father figure. And even more than that Barina truely did love her mate, despite his flaws. She nickered uncertainly to the fallen grey, unsure of how the two stallions were going to react to her interference.
OOC: hey, I'm not reallly sure if this will be ok with you Caity, I just thought it was kind of a cool idea, let me know if you're not ok with it
Baree had followed the rest of the herd as they rushed to watch the fight between the two stallions. Baree didn't understand the complicated history between the two brothers, he merely saw Tingara as defending his territory and did not understand how a skirmish had so quickly become a battle that looked liked it might be to the death. Not one for violence, he shuddered and switched his gaze to the two chesnuts ahead of them. Presumably the grey's mares. He could smell another strange mare too, and perhaps a colt, but he could not see them. Puzzled he gazed through the snow but to no avail. Suddenly he gasped as a silver mare stepped out of the blizzard and over Maluka. What was going on? He may not have much experience but he certaintly knew that this was not the way fights normally went!

Not really knowing what else to do, Jannali had followed Tingara's mares when they went to see the fight. Though she should have technically been impartial, watching the fight Jannali couldn't help but root for Tingara. Though not part of his herd anymore, he had always been kind to her, and besides that he was the father of Kala's foal. Jannali looked over at her half-sister standing beside her next to her beautiful black colt. She was glad to have had a chance to meet her sister's first son before they went their seperate ways and she certainly hoped that he grew up with his father still alive and well. As she stood in the unseasonal snow storm watching the fight, Jannali was suddenly transported to a different time, a different fight sometime in the future. Another fight between a dark horse and a light. Jannali felt sick, Nevada was sure to fight Tingara someday was he not? She couldn't help but feel affection for Tingara but she loved Nevada. Surely she would never have to watch the same scene unfold with another grey at the mercy of the black's hooves and teeth? Tingara was a powerful fighter, and though Nevada was too, anything could happen in a fight. Trembling, Jannali continued to watch, mesmerized by the shifting shapes of black and white.

Kala had returned to the main herd a few days ago only to find that Tingara had been out on one of his routine wanderings. Her mate had yet to meet his son, so like himself, and now she stood here watching him fight a bloody and viscious battle. Biangri stood, inoccent in his naiivety, watching beside her, snowflakes landing on his dark eyeslashes. He kept blinking, watching the battle in confusion and horror. With his fine, dishy head and elegant black body he was truely his father in miniature. Kala only hoped that he would get a chance to meet his father.
