Waiirri paced anxiously back and forth, wondering where Doowi could have possible have gone to. He knew she had gone to give birth to their colt and it was natural that she should be alone but he couldn't help but fret. In fact it was taking all his will power not to go after her. Sighing he stopped to graze a little, his ears flickering back and forth in hopes of catching the sound of his returning mare and their foal.

A pretty, silver filly was bounding with almost limitless energy, a beautiful red colt at her side. She had named him Kurung-Jang, and was very pleased with it. The colt had climbed to his feet very quickly, and was now walking proudly beside his mother. Honestly, Doowi was pretty hungry and tired, but it wasn't in her nature to let anyone else know this! The filly rounded a stand of trees, and squealed in delight as she saw Warri. She trotted to meet him, the colt struggling to keep up. "Warri, Warri! Look, this is our colt, he's Kurung-Jang, it hurt, I can't wait to see him grow up and hiiii!" she squealed, seeming to not draw breath. The colt just stared, amazed.

Something ahead of him was crashing through the undergrowth. Just as Waiirri flung up his head, ears pricked all the way forward and on high alert, the very silver mare he had been waiting for burst out of the trees. In fact, she came at him with so much energy that he almost didn't notice the little red colt struggling to keep up with his mother. Doowi's barrage of comments was even harder to keep up with. Waiirri wasn't quite sure how to answer to "it hurt", flicking his ears back in discomfort. But when Doowi finally stopped to draw breath he reached forward to touch his muzzle to hers, nickering gently and blowing softly into her nostrils. He then peered around her head to see the chesnut colt, his son, watching in amazement. Waiirri stepped over to the little foal, extending his neck almost uncertainly and snuffling at him gently. He nickered then turned back to again nuzzle Doowi "I missed you," he said "I am glad you are back safely. Kurung-Jang is very handsome, as he should be with such a beautiful mother, and the name suits him perfectly." Waiirri was careful to add in as many compliments as he could without sounding insincere. Whatever made Doowi happy was good for everyone. And he was genuine. He truly cared a lot for his little family.

If horses spoke in emoticons, this would be her face- =D =D =D =D! Doowi was extremely pleased that her Warri liked Kurung-Jang, and you could tell the colt liked his dad, too. The little boy reached his nose up boldly to sniff at his father's muzzle, and squealed in surprise as he was breathed on. Doowi hadn't taught him about that yet. But then again, she WAS extremely absent-minded. Which she proved now. "I saw some horses along the waya back, they were getting chased by those nasty men, some got caught," she said absent-mindedly, staring down at her colt. The colt snorted, and strode nobly over to drink from his mother. Doowi almost forgot to stay still for him.
OOC- xD basically, this is where they can know that a hunt is on, and they can get to safety...

OOC: good idea, they would be at high risk otherwise!
BIC: The colt's sudden squeal made Waiirri jump in shock but he soon got over it. He stood next to Doowi as she allowed the colt to suckle, absently grooming her withers in long, soothing motions. The silver mare began to talk again and Waiirri flicked his ears to listen to her words. "I saw some horses along the waya back, they were getting chased by those nasty men, some got caught." said the mare. In an instant Waiirr's ears had flicked from idle contentment to extreme alert. He arched his neck, snorting in alarm "Where?!" he gasped "Where were the men? Are they heading this way?" He clacked his teeth in agitation, waiting for his mare's reply.

The silver filly tossed her head in an agitated way, not really getting what he was so worried about but kinda annoyed that he wasn't paying attention to her beauty, only to what she had just said about men. She hadn't seen much of them before, but it was kind of hard to mistake them for anything else. Her colt was still suckling, so she just said her answer instead of bouncing about. "Um... I think they were at Dead Horse Gap. And I could hear some whip-cracks coming from further up, near the snow line... the few I saw were after horses like me, or horses that looked like me at least a little bit. Like, awesome and a bit not awesome as well," she finished, flaring her nostrils and arching her neck.
OOC- xD she thinks the hunt is a popularity contest!

Waiirri tossed his head in agitation, and pawed at the ground with his right forefoot. "Doowi, we must go now, to some less exposed place." he said, as calmly as he could. "And we must take care not to be seen! Will little Kurung-Jang be ok to travel immediately?" Though frightened beyond words, Waiirri was shocked at his own relatively calm outward demeanor. His words sounded like those of Warring, not his own. But he was a stallion with a mare, and a son, now. He had to be brave and sensible for all of them now.

She titled her senseless head to the side, eyes wide and the foal, watching, did the same, its mouth hanging wide open. Doowi didn't know why Warri was so upset. They were just a few fur-less Dingo animals, even if they had been on top of other horses, that didn't look like they could navigate through a grass field without breaking a hoof or something. Or something. Anyway, she shook her mane prissily and did a dance step/jump to be next to Warri, Kurung-Jang right next to her. If they had to run away, she could do that, and so could the small foal. But, like, what's so bad about the dingo/men?

Waiirri tossed his head impatiently at Doowi's delay, but refrained from saying anything lest he offend her and further slow their progress. Panic flickered across his mind. Where should they go? He knew only that the men had been in the direction Doowi had come from. Perhaps higher up the mountain to find somewhere to hide? He knew not if the men's horses had difficulty with the higher territory but thought he dimly remembered Warring previously advising him to run over rocky territory if he should be chased by men. However he did not like the thought of being trapped on diffcult ground, especially with the colt in tow. Blowing out in frusteration he glanced around nervously. He would have to make a decision-now. Recalling that Warring's advice and done in well in the past, he decided to have faith in his younger cousin and go up the mountain. Making sure Doowi and Kurrung-Jang were following he sprung into an energetic canter and headed for the top of Mt. Kosciusko.

Doowi flicked and swung her tail busily, trotting primly after her stallion, the colt right next to her. It was having no trouble at all, and she, even being a senseless beauty, could tell that he'd grow up to be a fine stallion one day. She snuffled at his ears and he whinnied cutely, speeding up to keep up with the upset Warri. Doowi actually stuck her tongue out for a few seconds, but cantered to keep up, suddenly completely business-like.
