Watching him her face fell,s he saw the gap, but didn't move towards it, she wasn't going anywhere. All too soon a horse tried to rush through it, Towera jerked her head away and took her stride sideways. Sweat was dripping off her like it had been poring. She looked to Coorain "I-can't its blocked!" She pushed him a gay excuse as another horse shot through another horse closed the gap after she was gone. Her legs finally felt the strain of the run, her back felt like a million tuns, it had to finish soon! hanging her head slightly Towera almost stumbled into Coorain, looking to him apologetically "I-I won't leave you again" she strained the last word and soon looked forward to the horse flesh that was moving across in front of her, her worry was strained more then normal.

OOC: I'm going to post with the remainder of my other charries and reply with the others some time later. I'm just going to try and get this done so some of them will probably be quite short.
BIC: Irawaddy had never been so scared in her life. Not even when she was a yearling and had experienced a similar brumby drive. No, back then she'd had nothing to lose. Now she feared not only for herself but her frantic daughter, Nandalie and the rest of the herd. Sweat streamed off the tall bay mare's slim figure as she galloped in the crush of horses, her nostrils showing pink from exertion. They had been running for so long, but towards what? Desperately, she wished she could comfort Amarina. The bay roan yearling was beside herself with terror, pale roan coat nearly black from sweat. She pressed as closely to her dam as their pace would allow, following her blindly. Suddenly a horse behind them bolted forward and Amarina was knocked to the side. She tried to get back to Irawaddy but her mother had disappeared. And then, suddenly, she was being swept to the right, unable to fight against the tide of horses. ------------------ Camira had long since lost track of Wyuna, Nandalie or anyone familiar for that matter. She was in the midst of the crowd, galloping haphazardly down the rocky slope. panic visible in every line of her elegant body. Her creamy palomino coat was streaked black with sweat and grime but she still showed up brightly amongst the other horses darker pelts. Suddenly she drew abreast with another pale horses and with a jolt, recognized Karuah. She choked out a greeting to her half-sister, keeping close to her as they were born along with the crowd. ---------------- Nyauwe had never had so much fun in his life. True, the oppresive heat and flying dirt was a bit of a downer but never before had he had the chance to match his speed against so many other horses. And he was fast. Not that he could really go anywhere in this mess but the fact remained that the young colt was simply glorifying in the chance to stretch his legs and run. He was currently galloping next to an anxious looking filly and playfully he swung his head to nip at her withers. When she didn't react he snorted coltishly but was soon distracted from his game as the horses behind him pressed closer. Fine...he'd run faster. But there was no where for him to go.All of a sudden it became much less like a game and a lot more frightening. Throwing his head up, Nyauwe looked for a way to get out of this mob but to his dismay saw there was no where for him to go. As far as he could see there was galloping horses. He didn't like this anymore. ------------- still have bunda wirruna bingarra

The steely-grey stallion whinnied in anger. She had ignored him, and now she would pay the price. He turned his head away from her, and rudely shoved her towards the gap that, though was currently blocked, might still exist. He looked around, and when she wasn't watching the hole, Coorain galloped even faster than he was doing before, all the time whinnying "The gap is still there! Come with me to freedom!" He galloped towards the place where the gap had been, and savagely bit the horse that was in his way. It squealed, and dodged to let the gap grow again. He looked at Towera, waiting. "I won't escape unless you do too."
OOC- that horse he bit was an npc horse

(OOC: the rider, yearling and pinto are npc's)
(BIC:) Angel legs were sore from the galloping she had been doing, but it wasn't over yet! She pinned her ears back and pigrooted, hoping some stupid man would be in the way. Her hooves connected with nothing, as she realised she was at teh back of the herd. Just then a man swung his grey horse around and smacked her rump with a whip. Angel screamed and pigrooted again, feeling her hooves connect with a saddle, and a man's leg. He yelled and she sprinted away, using her remaining strength, As Angel tried to speed up, a black pinto brumby blocked her way. Maybe she should stop, or maybe she should keep going? As she pondered, a young yearling stopped like she had been planning to do, and instantly he was knocked over by terrified horses. He would be dead, she knew it. So Angel kept going. The gap was getting closer, and fear sweat was staining the beautiful mare's neck and shoulders. Then, suddenly, she saw the edge of the gap go past her! She was caught!

Kye the falcon was still flying above the herd of panicked wild horses, and almost caasually dove down to be flying just ahead of the leaders of the runners. She barrel-rolled to the left, and pulled up to be flying behind one of the man riders. Kye let loose an intimidating screech, and sped forwards to zoom past his horse's heaad, and back agin, flapping her wings in its eyes distraactingly. She then angled her wings to fly upwards again, out of whatever range of anything they might throw at her. Kye called again, and truned to be soaring above her big horse, who, typically, was still stuck with trying to keep up with everyone else.

Biangri galloped frantically with the other horses, straining his young legs to keep up. Up ahead he could catch flashes of his father and he strove to keep the brave stallion in sight. For some reason he felt that if he could just keep with TIngara, everything would work out ok. ------------------ Baree was running with Cobalt, feeling himself grow more tired with every stride he took. He glanced up at the sky to see the sun beginning to set and realized that they had been running nearly all day. Numb from exhaustion and terror he kept going, moving just fast enough to avoid being run over. His light reddish grey coat was dulled by dust. He sneezed as dirt was kicked up ahead of him. -------- Wirruna galloped with the others, tired but not overly concerned. She had seen drives like this, she'd just never been in one herself. No, having been a stockhorse she was more used to being the chaser not the chasee. She'd never known humans to chase horses before and was puzzled by these humans strange actions. Perhaps they had confused them with cattle? She would have to see but for now simply kept running. ----------- Bunda was frantic. Enclosed on all sides by the creatures he feared the most, mankind, he wondered how this could have possibly happened. He had been so careful, avoided all trace of men, yet here they were, chasing him and countless others like they had done when he was only a yearling. He worried about Goonama and Goolara, where were they? When the men had arrived they had chased them down here but since then he had lost sight of them. Given the sisters' pale coats he would have thought it would be easier to spot them in the stampede but it was proving more difficult then he had imagined. Dust rose in clouds every few feet and there was so many horses around him that he couldn't see for more than 5 feet in each direction. The crack of a whip rang out and Bunda felt cold sweat break out behind his ears. How he hated men and everything to do with them! His beautiful frosted coat was streaked with dried sweat and dirt and his chocolate eyes rolled in fear as he continued to run. -------------- Bingarra had also lost track of his companion. Sometime since the dog had arrived and they had been chased down here he had lost sight of Lirralirra. Heart clenched painfully and desperate with concern for the petite mare Bingarra called wildly to her, not really expecting an answer in this mess. He hoped she was alright.
OOC: aha! VICTORY!! ALl my charries that are in the brumby drive/anyway involved with the brumby drive have now been posted in this thread. I still have to start replies to other people's posts though. ----------

Goonama was shaking with fear, galloping shoulder to shoulder with Goolara. A terrified bay colt thundered past them, and Goolara disappeared from view. Frantically, Goonama neighed to her sister, yet there was nothing but this churning mob of brumbies, and when it swung around, the filly was driven along too. “Goolara,” the filly neighed, breath sobbing in her chest as she galloped on and on. Everywhere there were men and their horses, the sharp crack of the whip driving her back. Terrified, Goonama could only follow the mob of brumbies, blinded by panic. A dog, barking madly, snapped at her heels, and Goolara flattened her ears and with a squeal of anger, kicked out. A whip cracked and she shied violently, leapt to one side as the dog vanished into the whirling mob. Further ahead, the bush thinned to a few straggly snowgums. Through the trees, she could see a man and his straining horse, a fine black flecked with lather. Goolara gave a sobbing neigh, and then there was Bunda beside her. Eyes rolling, his chestnut coat was soaked through with sweat.
“Bunda,” she gasped. “I cannot find Goonama. I must find her; I cannot let her be captured.” With a shrill whinny, Goolara plunged headlong into the mob. Stretching out her neck, she nipped at a terrified mare, who had struck her in her panic. However, nowhere in this mob of bays and browns, greys and duns, could the filly see her shining white sister.
OOC: Well I posted with the girls. I hope it's ok that I positioned Goolara near Bunda :]

.:: The herd is getting close to the corral now. The inexperienced man at the front right flank of the herd accidentally drove his horse across a concealed burrow, and the horse falls. Unharmed but dismounted, the man has left an opening for a portion of the herd to escape. Before the majority of the herd is driven into the trap, a section of the horses manage to make their escape ::.
OOC: Sorry for the delay here guys XD I'm so distracted with uni etc!!

Coorain finally lost his temper, again, and whinnied wildly at the filly that did not run as he had commanded. He nipped at her flank and heels, shoving whenever he could, just trying his best to force the filly to escape, to get away. Even if he did not get away, at least his mare could be free to bear foals and continue her line.
Alison bit her lip as a mana drove his own horse into a hollow, allowing even more wild horses to escape, and asked someone to take her place as she pulled her horse up slightly, so that she could see the situation and help where she could. Something caught her eye, a big gesture from one of the other riders, and Alison realized it was a girl, saluting her own gender. She smiled and waved back, but immediately went back to watching. There was a horse, way behind the others, ignored by the drivers. She frowned and trotted her horse around the motley group of mostly men, to see what was wrong. The horse was struggling to breathe, and Alison quickly rode to its side, wondering what she should do.

Kurra, tired but determined to run to the end, cantered with the remaining horses. His proud gallop had been reduced to a slower pace, and that was all the more angering, but it was all Kurra could do. His breath came in great gasps now, but the horses around him were exhausted, too, and so he was no longer be knocked off balance by wild horse flesh. He glared venomously at the pairs of stallions and fillies, the ones who loved each other, while Kurra was left with only his will to fight for the end. All the more set in his ways, Kurra lurched forward, forcing his heavy hooves to eat up the ground one step at a time. He now found himself wanting his fate to come, wishing it were near, just so he wouldn't have to run anymore. It was a weak and desperate thought, and Kurra's mind automatically rejected it.
Darel looked up to see a crowd of men gathering around him, and out of fear he tried to bring himself up again. But he was more afraid of his restricted breathing, and so collapsed again as his straining lungs fought for air. His widened eyes flicked from person to person, and he wished all over again that he could simply get up and run away from it all. Sweat had stained his beautiful chestnut coat, turning it dark, and billowing dust had settled over his flexing body. But wait... Darel's throat seemed to clear. He gasped frantically as he found that the air could now reach his lungs, and began to relax as the panic induced by the lack of oxygen started to subside. Even his clenching muscles were loosing their strength as they flexed abnormally beneath his dirty hide. Darel slumped to the earth as the strange spasm, one of the worst he had had yet, left him. But all of the effort it had cost him took a toll, and as much as he wanted to get up and run like the wind, he felt too tired. Vainly he struggled with his remaining energy, which was mostly borne through fear, trying to haul his heavy body upright. But each time he fell back again, until finally Darel gave up, his sides heaving for breath, and his head drooping miserably. He still felt rebellion in him, the rebellion of the brumby against man, but it was weak, and he knew he hadn't any fight left.
