"Do not worry about me; the men will not notice me standing here, but what happened here? I was hidden away in one of my favorite grazing spots in the back country and never even heard of this terrible run!" exclaimed Illoura, dropping her nose level to that of the sooty palomino mare and her chestnut colt as they tried to hide her from and potential eyes. All the same, Illoura was touched by the mare's concern for her welfare and freedom; her own mother had had a similar attitude towards her safety. But despite her words, she was still on alert; her senses strained to pick up the slightest noise of movement in the huts that the men stayed in, or for the whinny of any of their tame horses who may give her disguise away.

Coorah glanced about to make sure no-one could see or had seen even a flash of this wild horse, and turned to talk to her again once she knew the coast was clear. It seemed that some other horses in the pen with her had seen what was going on and had decided to help out with hiding the mare. "Then you are lucky, my friend. Brumbies from all over the high country were caught up in this run, and we do not know how to escape or what we should do," she said sadly. Coorah didn't want her colt to be raised in captivity; he already had the makings of a fine stallion about him, one who would look quite alot like that famed chestnut stallion, Yarraman.

Illoura eyed the mare and her colt with pity; they did not deserve such a fate, however she didn't think there was anything she could do to help them. The yards were secure, and really, what could one silver filly do to damage them? Keeping her ears finely tuned on the hut, every single silver and cream hair in her coat and mane tingling, Illoura asked the mare, and any other brumby who passed and cared to listen, "Where did you come from?" to find out how widespread the hunt had really been. While she was waiting for a reply; the mare seemed to be extremely concerned for her welfare, she cast a glance around the rest of the pen, finally resting on the mare's colt. It was a shame to see him caught; he looked so young and full of life; so like her ancestor Yarraman. It was a pity to see all of these horses have their freedom taken away from them.

Towera looked to see a mare in the wild, she walked over to the fence and looked out, her eyes shimmering as she said "You have guts to be here mare, have you lost someone in here?" Towera looked around at the horses, her legs were fine apart from the fact she felt stiff and sore though anything would be better then being in this cadge, she knew she would have ran more then 100 miles further to get away from this place. the mare who was talking next to her in the pen, she noticed a colt, oh the poor thing, she hoped Coorain was alright, she didn't know if he had escaped or not, but any place was better then this, even the bottom of dead ans creek.

"You have guts to be here mare, have you lost someone in here?" said a passing mare; a bay tobiano, but still no one had answered Illoura's question. She blew upwards, keeping her fetlock out of her face, and told the bay mare with the white patches, "No, I was merely trying to find out how widespread this hunt was. I do not really 'know' anybody in these high mountains, I come from the south." Illoura then blew apologetically at the sooty palomino mare and her colt and said; "I wish I could do more to help you, thank you for helping to conceal me from the men." She touched the palomino's nose once; gave the colt one last fleeting look before creeping, beside the railings, over to the other holding pen where brumbies were milling around.

Towera blinked through the bars and answered dully "As far as they eye can see is all I guess, I came from Cascade Creek, and yet there are so many horses still coming" pity coloured her own tones as she hung her head to the lower bar, she was instantly curious as the mare moved, she didn't do anything, how could she? The bars that contained her was something she had never seen before. Towera looked over the palominos back to keep the other mare in eyesight, she didn't have a good feeling about this.

OOC: hey Tex, I think the mares and stallions are in separate pens, apart from mares and foals, so Ru wouldn’t have bumped into Irawaddy. Wahn was surprised when the chestnut stallion addressed him. He paused in his chewing of the wood, then turned his head to look at the other horse curiously. Beside the chestnut he noticed a strange looking grey with an orange mane and tail who also appeared to be looking in his direction. “Hello,” he said to both of them “My name is Wahn, who are you?” His voice was light and full of curiosity, clearly he wasn’t bothered by being here. With his mane and tail still sticky up at odd angles (he still hadn’t quite outgrown that part of his foalhood) Wahn presented quite a comical appearance. OOC: bleck, sorry it's so short and kinda lame, it's very late and I have no real muse.

OOC- Oh.... crud x3 sorry bout that, just say he nudged her from behind the bars!
Ru nickered good-naturedly to Wahn, and gave him the horse equilavent of a smile. Finally, another horse with manners! "Greetings to you too, Wahn, I am Ru-Shiro. I was caught a while before the rest of you, unfortunately. Still, since there's more of us now, perhaps we can escape together!" he cheered, and swished his tail, nickering loudly.
OOC- sorry for crappy post, keyboard's running out of batterries and I'm running out of muse!

OOC: Since Illoura isn't a captured horse, thought it was best not to have her hanging around for too long.
Now Illoura was beginning to get really nervous, and she had the feeling of eyes watching her back. She wanted to keep on talking to the captured brumbies and gathering information, but this really wasn't the place for idle chatter. She began to back away from the captured pens, feeling more anxious and nervous by the second. As swift as a whirlwind, Illoura whipped around and cantered into the safety of the trees; looking back once at the captured brumbies with sadness, and neighing mournfully to the sky for their lost freedom before slipping silently through the bush back the way she had first come from.

Wahn... Darel gave the colt a queer look, wondering why he seemed so at ease. Didn't he realize that from now on he would be serving the humans with his very life? Darel wanted to shudder and look away, but instead he found himself chuckling from the youngster's odd appearance. Darel swished his tail, amused at the thought of being amused, and then he noticed that Wahn's gaze was not on him. Darel glanced back, saw a few mares milling around, and turned back to think nothing of it. Suddenly he realized that he had totally forgot the colt's question, who are you?, and mentally kicked himself. "Oh, and I'm Darel. It means blue sky."
OOC: Don't worry, mine's short, too!
