Name: Latymier
Species: Kiger Mustang
Gender: Stallion
Age: 4
Appearance: Latymier is a stocky and muscular Kiger stallion. His color is a dark grullo with a dorsal stripe that ends at his tail.
Personality: Cunning and intelligent, Latymier is far beyond his young age. He hopes to lead his own herd, but knows that he must grow stronger and older before this is likely to happen. This Kiger stallion is very thoughtful and difficult to outwit. He loves fighting because he is exceptional at it and always willing and wanting to learn more of his skills. He is an opportunist and is patient enough to lay low until he knows when to act. He is quite unpredictable in his actions and attempts to keep others questioning him. A horse would have to get to know Latymier very well and for a long time before knowing him at all.
His personality is between sarcastic and just plain rude. His words can hurt, but he knows where and when and to whom to use his barbed tongue. He can also be charming, as long as it serves his purpose. Can this hard heart be softened as he grows older and matures with other horses?
History: This stallion is the son of a mare who was angry at the world. Her grulla pelt was passed on along with her attitude that everyone and everything ends up betraying you at some point in time and trust is not to be given lightly. Treated badly by humans, she taught her son never to trust them. He was taught caution and cunning above all else and knows how to manipulate and get along with just about anyone while keeping on his guard. The other captive horses on the breeding farm kept their distance, but the curious colt socialized far more than his mother in spite of her untrusting belief that he should be a loner. He became a social loner because of this and keeps walls up while others think he is being open.
After he was deemed too stubborn to be trained, the stallion was shipped to Austrailia to a gullable buyer, who thought he was beautiful and easy going. She found out differently, however, when he burst from the trailer to run for freedom in the outback.

Hungry. Latymier hadn't eaten in days with next to no grazing in the harsh winter. He could feel his heart pumping in his chest and his stomach roiling in agony. Snow settled on his thick dark mane as he wished he had a taste for meat. Other animals fared very well eating it and survived the cold months while grazers half starved searching for dead grass or bark. He snorted at the unfair advantage of meat-eaters.
His ears perked up as he suddenly realized that he was being stalked by those meat-eaters and he became angry that he was so hungry while these wolves would try to make a meal of him. Ears pinned, the stallion reared up with a furious snort. The wolves closed in but had deeply underestimated their would-be meal. The muscular stallion came down on the closest wolf and despite his weakness crushed it with such ease that it gave the rest of the pack pause. Neighing in fury, Latymier charged the next wolf and it gave off a snarl before falling under the sharp hooves of the powerful stallion.
That had done it and the rest of the pack decided to retreat in search for an easier meal. Their whines were music to Latymier's ears because he was proud that he wouldn't be taken down by a hungry pack of wolves. This powerful feeling wore off as he was reminded of his hunger and he resumed the search for food.
