The staff had a pow-wow and we've decided that the breeding season will now be spring to summer.
This means the gestation period will be more "realistic". The gestation period in real time will be four months minus a week from the day the mares stats are posted. This sounds like and INSANELY long time, but in actual fact, there will be no greater wait between foals.
Foals will still still be born in spring/summer, so mares will only be able to breed again once they have had the foal they were carrying.
The other thing that has changed is the age at which mares and stallions can breed. It used to be two-years-old for mares, and three for stallions. This has reversed, meaning two-year-old colts will be able to breed (if they're lucky enough to convince a mare to do so) and mares will have to be three before they can breed. Again, this makes the system more realistic, as a male will breed as soon as they are able, whereas a female will not usually breed until they are fully grown.

This means that the breeding season is right now! So stallions can make their threads in the right board, and non-pregnant mares can reply. Once mares already pregnant have given birth, they can breed again pretty much straight away, so you'll be able to post their stats in the stallion's threads once their foals have been born.
The "Breeding" board has been split into two sub-boards. "Current Breeding Season" and "Pending Foals" last years breeding threads are in the "Pending Foals" board, making room for this season's breeding threads to be posted in the "Current Breeding Season".
Sorry for the executive decision, but we're interested in making Kossy as "realistic" as a horse RPG can be without ruining the fun =)
If you have any problems/questions, PM a staff member =)
