Welcome to the Island of Valinor; population zero unknown

•|Valinor. The word itself would cause one to imagine a land of pure beauty, solitude, and eloquence; and the land was all of that and more. Brooks babbled, trees swayed in the gentle breezes, flowers bloomed year round - all of these things made the land known far and wide, and made all others envious. The creatures that thrived here were as beauteous as the land, babies were born each spring.. yet as the years wore on; more and more beautiful creatures were birthed... and the vanity grew and grew like a deadly virus. Soon the serenity and eloquence that made the land famous was destroyed, forever marred by the malady that swept over the terrain like a dark cloud of death. Fires raged on for days, burning everything that it's blazing grasp could touch - ash and soot filled the air in a thick, smothering fog. Birds who had once filled the air with their peaceful melodies, now choked in the smog, their lungs screaming for air. Deer and other forest dwellers were burned alive as their homelands were surrounded by the hellish flames. A malicious plague swept through the equine herds, spreading like flies - their silent wings beating furiously as they passed from horse to horse; laughing as one by one the bodies fell. Days, months, years - all passed slowly, as if time itself had slowed itself down.. the hapless few who lived tried to cope.. tried to replenish the herds; but the crazed disease wasn't finished with his cruel games. Foals were born with crippling deformities, some with no legs, other's with hardly any immune systems. Some had revolting bone abnormality causing bone spurs to protrude from the forehead, eyes hung limp from their sockets.. the lucky ones were born dead. Soon the island was abandoned.. the bodies rotting in the sun, flies burrowed into the flesh.. and soon only bones remained. Now, several decades later, a new race of equines have returned... the destruction finally over... only time will tell if these few will be successful or.. like their ancestors... fall victim to the cruel and twisted fate of the land....
