The sun sank into the ground. It flinted occasionally through the small curtain of snowgums and candlebark of which a lone, bay mare stood peering out. She stared out at the rocky grounds, casting some interest on a small bimble of horses that grazed not too far away. Her brown orbs scanned over the group, before falling on a bay stallion. He scanned the grounds occasionally, before returning to graze. Baruna wasn't ready to show herself yet, but instead, turned and melted into the pale trunks of the snowgums.
She was a rather bulky, round mare; making her heavier and probably less attractive than most mares. But she didn't count on her looks, ever. She stalked slowly through the bush, her hooves scrapping around the twigs and leaves that scattered around. The ground suddenly sloped upwards and the trees gave way to a clear, but rocky flat. Baruna waited for a moment, scanning the ground with interest, but the crest prevented her from seeing more than the short flat. Confirming to herself that she was alone, she moved as quickerly as her plump round body would let her. Stepping in and around rocks, the snowgrass feeling splendid under her hooves when she was walking on it. She reached the crest within ten minutes or so, when she reached it, her pace slowed down. She held her small bay head up to see if she could see anyone on the top. She stepped slowly, up, up, up. Her muscles twitching and tensing as she got closer, closer. Her ears flickered and when she got to the top, she let out a huge sigh. No one was on there. She was a lone. Good. Baruna didn't particurally feel like dealing with a stallion at the moment.
The sun had finally set and the evening stars could be seen above her. For a moment. She cast a long look at them, for the stars she was named, before grazing contently on the sweet snowgrass.
