Name: Darel [meaning blue sky] Species: Brumby Gender: Stallion Age: 3 years Appearance: Darel is a fit young chestnut, his coat taking on a reddish shimmer. The hue is a deep auburn, and the color of the fur is the same as his mane and tail. But there are a few colors that defy the chestnut code; these being his white socks and painted face. Darel has a good-sized stripe running down the bridge of his nose, the top base almost making the shape of a star; but not quite. Then there is a patch of pink, outlined with gray, which is placed between his nostrils. For size and shape, Deral scores alright. His size is nothing impressive, but his frame is lithe and that of an athlete. Well, in Brumby terms at least. Personality: Ah, young Darel. This stallion is not the break-your-neck kind of guy; no, he's a bit of a softie. Well, maybe more timid than soft. Darel's first instinct with problem situations is to flee, thus it'll be rather difficult to get a fight out of him. If he does take a swing, it's only out of fear and self-defense. Other than that, you'll just find Darel somewhere that he considers safe; and this is usually some lonesome place out in the woods. He is a bit anxious with socialization, but normally, this is only a first reaction. Afterwards, you'll find Darel a good guy to relate to. He's cautious, maybe even wary, but always has an open heart. Darel does have a lot of personality deep inside, but apparently the stallion hasn't get found a way to channel it. Oh yes, and you should know that he does like mental and physical exercises. It'll keep him pretty happy. Genes: ee/aa Extra: Darel has a strange and unfortunate disease; this is called Hyperkalemic Periodic Paralysis. Or, HYPP. This genetic defect effects his muscle tissue, making him subject to spasms, or seizures. These spasms may include muscle tremors, weakness, and temporary paralysis; it has also been known to cause death. Respiratory and heart failure are the main reasons, which can occur following a severe attack. Darel is subject to these attacks whenever there is too much stimulation, not enough food, dietary problems, illness, and exercise restriction. Obviously, any one of these can happen in the outback. It's kind of amazing that Darel has made it this far; but the cold truth is, he may end up dead soon if caught in the wrong situation.

The gene code should be 'ee/aa' or 'ee/Aa' if you want him to maybe have bay foals. ^^
See what I wrote for Cobar.
Also, a minor thing, but HYPP is only found amongst Quarter Horses that can trace back to an individual horse called Impressive. Of course, a character with HYPP is interesting anyway, so, who cares. xD

OK, thanks for the gene tip. =D As for HYPP, I know that it comes origonally from Impressive, but I didn't know it's just in Quarter Horses. Well... for realism, we could say he's got some quarter down the line, but then again it is just a minor detail. ^^

Precisely, no one but us is going to notice. x3 Edit: And, also, HYPP tends to make horses buff. Like, in some bases, crazy buff. Thats why they intentionally bred it into Halter Horse QH's, to make them bigger and therefore win at more shows. I like the idea of a tank of a horse that can't do much to defend himself. It'll give other stallions an excuse not to try taking him on too, probabaly extending his life a while. xD Edit 2: THIS guy is pretty on the extreme end of what HYPP can do.
If you want me to delete all these exess posts to clean up your profile, let me know. ^^ My bad.
