Name: Lattendämon, Dämon for short, or Don if he likes you. (Means ‘Pale Demon')
Species: Horse / Pure Oldenburg
Gender: Male / Gelding
Age: 6
Appearance: A large but elegant horse, Dämon stands at an impressive 17.3hh and is about as Aryan as a horse can get with his blonde hair and blue eyes (perlino). With slab-like muscles in his shoulders and flanks, sloping hindquarters and arched, crested neck it comes as little surprise he is normally described as 'imposing'. Not one for the beginner or faint of heart.
His long legs are not thin, but elegant, neat and strong - not thick or feathered like a Friesian's - and they culminate in hard, sharp hooves which rarely need trimming.
On his hindquarters are a freeze brand of the stables symbol followed by his birth number. Being white, the brand was applied longer to make the hair darken.
Personality: Dämon is the kind of horse who adores the feeling of being admired and the rows upon rows of spectators, being one of the few horses who enjoys a cheering crowd.
He’s big, he’s handsome, he’s impressive, and he knows it. Being gelded didn't do much against his self esteem. In fact, he's quite convinced he's better than you.
Also very snobbish and self centered, he firmly belives draft breeds and ponies are second class citizens and that any horse with an imperfection should be either put down or never bred.
However much it seems not to affect him on the surface, Dämon happens to feel a might bit upset that he’s no longer a complete male, and lets his frustration vent whenever he needs to ensure it never reaches critical. It's definately a good thing he is not a stallion, because he would have been absolutely impossible to manage.
He doesn't fight any more, because, well, he doesn't have a need to now. Instead, when he's not feeling like playing the gentleman role he's content with threats or just plain making you feel inferior.
History: Our giant friend was born at a high class breeding stable in Grey Mare Lease and nicknamed ‘Don’ by his keepers. Life was easy, at least until he became a weanling. That was his first contact with people, when he was caught roughly, restrained, and sedated to be gelded. This same fate awaited the other colts unfortunate enough not to have at least one parent that was a prize winner. At this stable, only the best could go on to breed.
As he grew he was broken in, albeit impatiently, and was turned into a respectable, but sometimes moody sort of horse prone to biting people in irritation, bumping them hard on purpose and wind-sucking. Even though he was a gelding, he didn’t stop being aggressive, and wouldn’t stop bulking up to be a proper sized stallion, he picked fights with other colts and chased the fillies around. It was a while before they found the cause. The person who gelded him didn’t do it properly and one testicle was still left inside the body. He was sterile, but still being pumped full of testosterone. It was surgically removed a few days later and his behaviour improved.
To this owners surprise he proved capable of being an adept sport horse, particularly dressage and in-hand shows. It mostly out of spite on Dämon's part. He wouldn’t be happy until his owners regretted their decision to castrate him, and he wasn’t satisfied until they were miserable about it.
Sweet freedom came to him when some amateur horse thieves fumbled their raid and panicked, smashing though some fences with their truck during their attempted escape after they were spotted. Dämon and a number of horses at his stable all rushed out in a panic and by the morning found themselves utterly lost.
He's been in the wild for some months, and is hating it. He refuses to allow himself to be caught, because he "never, ever wants to be owned by poor people."
Genes: EE/Aa/CrCr
Extra Comments: Might get recaptured later, but because he’s not a breeding horse he isn’t first priority. This character is just for me to play with when all my others are busy.
Also, based on Hilter as far as some of their ideals go. Basically, "Kill or sterilise anyone you don't think is good enough."
