Name: Alexis “Alex” Danes
Gender: Female

Appearance: Alexis has clear, beautiful blue eyes, moderately fair skin and tangly medium-length blonde-brown hair with natural red strands in the mix. She brushes it, but it’s very wild when she wakes in the morning. She sometimes puts it up in a ponytail or leaves it out. She’s never been particularly interested in fashion and instead goes for comfortable and practical. Though she does sometimes dress up. Rarely. Very, very rarely. She’s of average height and build, on the solid side but not very much so.
Personality: An avid reader, she’s shy around strangers and often retreats to her books. However, she loves spending time with those who have taken the time to get to know her and gotten her to become her friend. She’s mostly a solitary person, though. She’s grown up with two older brothers, so doesn’t get intimidated by guys and socialises with them just like with any other girl, though often dislikes those who get idiotic often.
Despite her shyness she can get impatient easily, though she just doesn’t let others know it. Unless she knows them really well and is comfortable around them.
She tried her best at school as she had to go anyway, so saw no point wasting the time doing nothing, but while she found some topics interesting she never truly loved it, unlike her mother who had continued studying afterwards. So she decided to go to Mount Kosciusko with the brumbies whenever she could and work at their ranch at other times.
History: She’s ridden since fourteen, and her mother gave her Killara as an eighteenth birday present. Although they had a rocky start, the two have become fierce friends in those four years. She’d always loved horses but she has been uneasy around them since her father died in a brumby drive when she was ten. Alexis had been going to start riding constantly when she turned twelve, but was put off by that. Her oldest brother Jack, who had moved out, visited on her fourteenth birthday and insisted she rode. As he had been older than her when the accident occurred, he’d kept riding. Alex once again loved it. They never moved from near Kosciusko as they all adored the place and it reminded them of her deceased father Jim, so it wasn’t too hard for her to decide to visit the area.
At twenty she decided on the trip and, in the Christmas after she turned twenty, Jack brought home Elouera, a young brumby he’d taken home from his own brumby drive. As he had miscalculated and couldn’t take care of another horse, Alex offered to do so. She spent the next two years working with other horse wranglers, as well as Elouera, so as to be ready for the trip.

Name: Killara
Gender: Stallion
Age: Seven
Appearance: A piebald tobiano, Killara has splotches of black and white over his body. His mane is slightly longer than usual, though his tail is of a normal length. His eyes are a dark brown and, although he’s intelligent, you can very rarely see his feelings there. As she’s been with him a long time, Alexis often knows how he’s feeling – and visa versa – though she can never really know for sure, at least not by looking in his eyes. His legs are white from his knees down, with a thin line of white on his nose.
Personality: Although Killara’s kind and caring, you can very rarely tell what he’s really thinking. He’s proud and will help others, but you often don’t know he’s going to until he does. With newer riders he’s gentler towards them, unless they’re pretending to be experts. Then he just bucks them off.
History: Killara was bought at a year of age by a nice elderly woman. She sold him two years later when Jane Danes came to buy a horse for her daughter. Since then he’s lived with Alexis.

Appearance: A bay brumby from Mount Kosciusko herself, Elouera has a deep chocolate brown coat and pitch-black mane and tail. She has a blaze of white on her nose.
Personality: Friendly but mischievous, Elouera is hardworking but playful. She’ll do important work without a second thought, though is always thinking of an opportune time to fool around – and a way to do so successfully.
History: Elouera was one when humans came on a brumby drive and Jack Danes caught her. He then gave her to his twenty-year-old sister as he discovered he didn’t have room to keep her. Although she was purposefully uncooperative at first because she had been taken from her home, she’s gotten used to Alexis.
