The storm hit. Droplets of rain pricked Yunkara’s skin like needles as he cantered on a non-existent path beneath the tall Ash trees. The light given off from the almost-faded sun and the now appearing crescent moon was faint as it was obstructed by the writhing dark clouds, but strikes of lightning appeared frequently enough for the sooty buckskin stallion to avoid any obstacles in his path. He sounded a sigh of relief when he saw the silvery strands of a flaxen mane and tail at his side. Yunkara searched for the black filly but was unable to see her. Surely she would not have left the Moon Filly though, so he figured that her dark coat was simply taking advantage of his not-so-perfect night vision. Opposite from him, Shaylx seemed to be having no trouble in the storm. Her beauty and the graceful way she cut through the darkness with her similar large stride amazed the large stallion. The night complimented her perfectly. She rightfully is a Moon Filly, were Yunkara’s thoughts. He regretfully tore his gaze off of her to send his eyes darting in every which direction, searching for some sort of shelter. His path changed from one second to another, leading the mare into the darker parts of the forest in hopes of heading toward the mountains. After frantic scanning, the buckskin stallion found something similar – a large rock face decorated with a jagged crack that formed a small cave. Some fallen trees leaned against the rough wall and created a roof over the entrance. Yunkara evaluated the crack, and finding it suitable ushered Shaylx in. He stood impatiently outside for the other Brumby, but she never came. His sooty head turned to the Moon Filly. ”Where is Arana?”[/i] he asked, searching her eyes for an answer. Even though he had had the thought that she had not followed at all, he had pushed it to the back of his mind at the time. An agitated hoof struck the ground and he shook his head. Before waiting for a reply from the mare, he started to rant, a slight worry hiding under his normally strong voice. ”I can’t believe she would do something that stupid! What on earth was she thinking?!”[/i] Yunkara cursed under his breath and was preparing to go after the black filly when another loud clap of thunder sent him hurdling into the cave. The rain had picked up in speed and density. There was no way he would be able to find her. The large stallion faced the mouth of the crack, watching the storm. Space was limited in the small cave, and he did not want to suffocate Shaylx by moving further back and creating an awkward situation. ”She better find Kambigo, and the two of them better get out of this storm. They could easily get hurt,”[/i] came his deep voice, quieter than usual. He snapped out of his worry in an instant, realizing that the Moon Filly was probably listening. ”I mean, not that I care about them.”[/i] His facade was weak and easy to see through. OOC: Nah, not your fault. Everyone went all over the place But for now, order looks like Shaylx, Me (aquiladorado, just in case you didn't know that haha), cheyanne, Esther. So yay!

The sound of the little black filly's name echoed through the trees and then the Kambigo came into view. Giving her a nip on the shoulder. he said: "You could have been lost..." A guilty look spread over her face although the Nightrunner probably couldn't have seen it in the darkness of the storm. "I'm sorry," she said in a voice that was barely a whisper. Then she stretched out her nose to give him a quick nuzzle under his mane. "Come on, we've got to find somewhere safe to stay while the storm passes." She turned her head to look behind her but she saw that the Moon Filly had obviously gone with the buckskin. "Well, I gave it my best shot," she thought to herself and turned back to face the pale stallion.

Barwon watched all that went on, not caring that he was getting wet. In his heart, the huge blue roan didn't care that the moon filly had gone with the buckskin-- it was nice to him, wandering alone, no one to worry about but himself, and he was used to it. He cantered up and out of the forest, heading north. He was aware that winter was coming- but he could fend for himself anywhere. Who knew, maybe he would meet a mare or filly along the way?

Shaylx glided almost effortlessly at his side, shifting her own direction half a heartbeat after the buckskin stallion. Following him willingly at least that was until she seen the small cave he chose for shelter. Ushered inside before she could protest the mocha mare managed she turn so she was at least facing the entrance of the cave. The scent of the rushing wind eased the sudden panic brought on by the unusual circumpstances. Soldiers flicker towards the stud standing just outside, he seemed to be waiting for the black filly. A thought that was confirmed a moment later by his quick question.
Jaws would part to answer, but it would seem the chance had been a brief one, as he started in on the act of stupidity. Lips would close, midnight fire dancing in those queit optics that remained resting on his agitated form. When his muscled tensed to move forward, his obvious intent to find the filly was thwarted by the frighteningly close clap of thunder that sent his larger frame back into the safety of the small cave. It took only a moment for the fact to sink in that this was a rather small cave, and the stud was making a valiant attempted to maintain a respectable distance. To distract herself from the akwardness of enforced confinement with a virtual stranger, Shaylx focused on the words he muttered. The worry in his quiet voice was obvious, but so was his effort to conceal that little bit of emotion.
In an effort to ease his worry without doing so in an direct way the fae decided to answer his earlier question. Lips part to allow that soft velveteen voice to be heard."Arana went in the opposite direction as you chose. The Nightrunner called her to him, I heard his voice before following you" For a moment she would be silent before a softly spoken"Thank you." Was given.

A sigh of relief slipped through his lips, he barely managed to hear her apology when a clap of thunder interupted them. Kambigo started, glancing wearily over his shoulder at the black filly, an embarrassed smile skipped across his face, but was gone within an instant. Even through the pooring rain and lightning, Kambigo could see fairly well, but he couldn't help but ask: "Do you know where the other two went off to?" He flicked an ear back at her, turning to start walking. Another crack of thunder rivetted off of the ashen trees, and made Kambigo jolt forward into a canter. They needed to find shelter, and if they could find where the others had gone, maybe...just maybe, they could find some shelter.

With a disguised sigh of relief from the words of the mare, the sooty stallion’s worry was lessened. In a way, he was glad that the Nightrunner and his filly had escaped together; in another he was bothered by the fact that the Moon Filly had noticed he kind of cared. It was his own fault and he knew it – his attempt to conceal it had been pointless. Yunkara decided not to make a big deal out of it, but it just felt... strange. This feeling was only amplified when Shaylx thanked him. It was not very often that the large stallion received commends for his actions. Especially from a mare. He turned his large head to face her, nothing showing in his eyes as was the usual.
Yunkara looked her over, the silvery mane clinging to her neck from the rain, while he stood shivering by the entrance. The drying sweat combined with the droplets of water that were being absorbed into his pelt sent chills throughout his body. The stallion did not reply to the mare, not even to boast about his courageous act of saving her. He normally would have, but the circumstances proved unsuitable. Instead he just continued to stare at her. Yunkara wanted to ask her about her past, where she had come from, but considering she didn’t seem to travel with the other Moon Fillies or in the company of a Sun Stallion he assumed that she had not had an ordinary one. After all, he was definitely one to know about undesirable pasts and figured she might not want to talk about that.
The more he looked at her, the more lost he felt. She was beautiful, but she was a Moon Filly. He did not deserve to be anywhere near her, and more than anything he wished he could leave. Strangely enough, something more than the storm held him inside the small shelter. Yunkara spoke roughly, his normally smooth voice quivering slightly due to his intermittent shaking. ”What are you doing here? Why did you follow me and not leave with Kambigo?”[/i] His intention was not to sound rude, but he was sincerely confused and absolutely clueless about what the Moon Filly wanted. Perhaps she had realized who he was and had followed him only to once again chase him out of the High Country. The sooty buckskin head sank low to the floor as he moved his gaze back to the storm that raged outside, too heavy to hold up with his exhaustion and the answer he knew he was going to get from the mare. Sure Yunkara was curious, but he was also prepared for the hurt he would have to confine inside himself when the answer hit.

OOC: Oh, it's my turn. Sorry lol A loud crack of thunder that crashed above her made the small filly jump. Through a curtain of water, Arana could just make out Kambigo. "Do you know where the other two went off to?" he asked her. After a few split seconds of thinking, Arana answered: "Yes, they went of in the other direction to find shelter from the storm, I think." Another crack of thunder ringed in her black ears as the Nightrunner suddenly lurched forward into a canter. She followed him, skipping gracefully through the tall trees that towered over them, making little shelter from the pelting rain that pierced her skin with cold. She noticed that Kambigo had turned in the direction of where she said the others were to be.

He head swung toward her at the uttered thank you. There was nothing to read in that dark quiet gaze. The occasional flash of lightning would outline his bulkier form at the mouth of the cave, revealing the tremor that course through his flesh. Ensnared in his gaze she found she couldn't look away as the silence stretched on and still he did not speak. Simply kept staring at her, eventually her own gaze dropped, resting instead at some point on his coat.
It was at this point that his shivering became the foremost thought runningthrough her mind. There wasn't any reason for him to suffer the cold just for the sake of being polite. Eyes would once more lift towards him, intent on telling him it was alright to move deeper into the warth of the cavern. Jaws had even parted to speak, but his own cut harshly through her voice effectively silencing her. Flinching back from him, the shock in her gaze as evident as it was on her face. Even that voice echoed the emotion as she stummered a responce. "I... you.. I thought... but.." Skull would drop, chin pressed towards her shoulder angled away from him, falling silent. "I am sorry...please forgive me." Were the words that would eventually come out after a lengthy pause. How she wished she could simply disappear, that the earth would open beneath her hooves and simply swollow her whole.
With her attention firmly focused on her hooves she backed as far as possible into the little space, attempting to take up as little room as possible. Maybe, if she were lucky, he'd forget she was even there, and once the storm ended would leave without looking back. If she were lucky. Lost in thought, twins would sag atop that cranium, the thick fall of icy moonlight tunbling to obscure one's view of the more delicate features of her visage.
The thought returned from earlier, she shouldn't have come down, there was nothing here for her. Granted, she knew there wasn't anything up there for her either, but at least there she knew the ground she stood upon. How she wished she could wake up and find this had all been a horrible dream and she was still safe and secure in her mothers small hidden vale. If only she had known when she woke this morning thinking it was time, the day would only accomplish wone feat. Showing the world that she was nothing more then a foolish coward.

OOC: Sorry Esther, but I think we should update the posting order to accomodate the happenings of the horses considering they're in different parts So maybe Shaylx, Me, Esther, cheyenne? Looks like you guys will join us soon enough though hehe. There was no anger in the response he received. In fact, it was apologetic – as that was indeed what it was, an apology. Turning around, Yunkara recoiled as the hurt he saw in the mare and the familiar lining of it in her voice struck into his memories once again. His eyes widened and he took a step closer to the Moon Filly, relaxing his posture as his immediate urge to comfort her wiped all other thoughts away. He peered out at her from beneath his dark forelock, searching for the words that might help. ”Do not take offense from what I said. Please, it had nothing to do with you and most everything to do with me.”[/i] His rich voice sang toward the Moon Filly with its normal alluring tempo. Adding a bit more of a joking nature on to that, the sooty buckskin continued. ”I just... well, I guess it would be alright to say that I’m usually not the good-hearted stallion someone would willingly follow.”[/i] Yunkara chuckled to himself at his own little joke, ignoring the fact that the things he had done were nothing to laugh at. Returning his attention to Shaylx, he finally noticed the increased distance that separated her from him. Piecing back together a more serious nature, the large stallion switched to a different tactic. He had hoped that the mention of his past would not affect the mare, that she truly didn’t know who he was. But the way she refused to look at him was eliminating that slim chance, and Yunkara gave a soft snort of surrender. He still remained confused as to why Shaylx had chosen to follow him – especially if she knew about him, and if she did, why she had not mentioned anything about it. The silence the Moon Filly was treating him with was as close to torture as Yunkara had ever had to deal with. He nickered his confusion to her, taking another couple steps in that direction. He would do anything to hear her voice again, needed to hear that voice again. ”I come from a bad past. That is why. And what about yourself? Where do you come from?”[/i] He truly was curious about more than why she had come with him. It wasn’t often that he ran into a Moon Filly; or a Nightrunner. But maybe this Shaylx had a more promising history than the Nightrunner, and could actually lend him a hand after all. If she was descended from the mythical herd, then logic says that she could easily take him to it, right? The thought sent a spark through the buckskin stallion’s veins and his heart started to race. There might be a reason he should stick with this Moon Filly after all, considering Kambigo had been nothing but a waste of time... a waste of time that brought Yunkara to the Moon Filly.

OOC|| Its ok, I have no problem with it ^.^
Lightning lit up the sky, striking fiercly at the ground. The night was normally Kambigo's terrain, but with the rain dropping heavily it obscured his normally excellent night vision. He kept his pace even and steady, keeping in mind that even though he was having difficulty seeing in the misty rain, he could see much better than Arana and so kept checking himself frequently, pausing every now and then to make sure that she was still there following him.
He tried to pick up the scents of the stallion and the moon filly, but was unsucessful as the rain would have washed away any lingering scent or sign that would have given their position away. He slowed his pace a little and was about to ask if he was going in the right direction when lightning lit up the misty night; revealing a small overhang in the rock. It was a small cave, and was decorated in fallen trees and other things. Perhaps the stallion and the moon filly had hiden themselves away in this? Kambigo wondered, relieved by the prospect of some shelter from the piercing raindrops and ear-splitting thunder. He whipped his head around and nickered for Arana. He waited for her to be at his side before he walked forward towards the entrance of the cave.
The wind whipped around and howled, becoming a distant hum as the nightrunner entered the cave. The ground was soft like, and he assumed it was sand; testing it a little with a forehoof. Flicking his head up, the nightrunner quickly serveyed the dark chamber, and soon found that they were not alone. The sooty buckskin stallion and the moon filly had found shelter here as well, to Kambigo's plain irritation. He glanced at his black filly, Arana, and back at the stallion; flicking his ears back in warning. He would not try anything stupid if the stallion didn't. "I did not realise that this cave was occupied." He said, trying to keep his voice polite and level, "I do hope you don't mind if Arana and I stay here until the storm ends?"
