Arana stayed close to Kambigo, unable to see much until a golden bolt of lightning lit up the land for a quick moment. She could see the pale outline of the Nightrunner in front of her that seemed to glow every time the lightning flashed. She nickered to him worringly, he probably wouldn't of been able to hear it through the rain that seemed to pelt against the ground and their backs like a million daggers.
The filly wondered where he was taking him. His eyesight was probably much better than hers was and he seemed to know what he was doing. Arana kept her trust in him and followed, her head to his flank. Kambigo turned his head and seemed to call her as he opened his mouth but she heard nothing becuase at the same time a crash of thunder echoed above them. He stopped and Arana quickly caught up with him, head to head, shoulder to shoulder.
There was another flash of lightning and the black filly suddenly threw up her head in fear. They must find shelter soon. She didn't know how long she was able to bear this. Her prayers were suddenly answered as Kambigo led Arana into a small cave that seemed to already be taken. A familiar scent caught her nose that she almost growled at. It was the buckskin. She flatterned her ears and bared her grass stained teeth at him while Kambigo spoke.

Flickering an ear in his direction as he spoke, the rich enticing sound of his voice breaking through the distance she had attempted to put between them. He even stepped closer in his effort. Which puzzled her, moments before he was all but yelled at her and now?? She supposed by the joking tones lacing his voice that he was attempting to make her feel better. Still she did not answer, though her gaze lifted towards him. The silence stretched, knowing now that she shouldn't have come, that he didn't want her around despite 'rescuing' her.
The smooth vocals of his musculine voice reached towards her once more, from a bad past? Her actions were just that, little thought simply a reaction. Neck muscles stretching lipping at his heavy forelock, until he questioned her past. Guarded pain flashed through those dark eyes, still jaws would part to speak, though words stilled when a flash of lightning revealed guests. Unable to move any further back, as she was already pressed in against the chilly stone. The plain irritation lit the Nightrunner's eyes and showed in the baring of the fillies teeth.
Eyes widen faintly at the unexprected company, and their immediate attitudes towards the buckskin. Gaze returned to Yunkara as the pale stallion spoke. A gentle graceful twist of that cranium half hidden behind his sooty bulk indicated she did not have a problem with sharing shelter with the two. The relief at the delay of her pasts tale was hidden carefully when Yunkara's attention would turn towards the pair.

If it had not been for the calming presence of the Moon filly, Yunkara would have been outraged by the appearance of Kambigo and his filly. But the sensation of her touch, still prickling over his face, pushed aside his urges as he turned his body to block Shaylx from the others and addressed the Nightrunner like a respectable adult. Responding to the rude gestures he received by only flattening his ears slightly, the sooty stallion pushed himself as close to Shaylx as she would allow in order to leave a bigger gap near the entrance. ”A storm such as this one speaks for itself. This is a small shelter, but if comfort is not a concern then there should be enough room for you and Arana to wait out the worst part.”[/b]
Yunkara gazed at the pair of Brumbies with his dark eyes, their silhouettes illuminated by the inconsistent flashes outside. He knew it was no coincidence that they had ended up here when the both of them had left in the opposite direction. The Nightrunner definitely had something to do with their sudden appearance, but he was not too concerned. Without showing it, deep down the large stallion was glad that Kambigo and Arana were alright. Yunkara gave a quick shake of his wet coat and bent down to take care of an itch on his foreleg, where the drying sweat and rain had stiffened the hair. Swishing his tail at the same time, the normally fierce stallion was a picture of pure relaxation with Shaylx at his side. And yet he knew nothing about her. He noted how his question had caused her to react strangely – normally how he reacted if anyone asked him about his past. At least on the inside, whereas on the outside he covered his hurt with anger. For all he knew, the Moon Filly probably had her own Sun Stallion prepared to hunt her down as soon as the storm was over, and her reaction had been due to the fact that she missed him.
The sooty buckskin stallion raised his eyes to meet hers. There was no need to bring up her past again, and he decided to just savor the little time he might have with her. While he was stuck in a cave with two other Brumbies. Yunkara scolded himself quietly for getting into another dramatic social situation, as he seemed to attract these kinds of things like bees to a flower. Or he made them himself, but those ones were usually more fun. Yes it was going to be awkward with Kambigo and Arana around for the storm, but the large stallion would simply have to deal with it.
