The flaxen chestnut came to a halt along a ridge. Her sides heaved and sweat dripped off of her flanks, she had just been down near Dead horse hut. She had not been spotted by any man, but a lone tame horse had caught her scent, and had whinnied to her, alerting the men of her presence. Terrified of capture, Tamira had bolted down the path, and into the snowgums where she would be able to hide, or dodge any trailing rope. She had slowly came to her senses after a couple of kilometres, and soon felt rather silly. Why would a man come out to hunt a horse..in the freezing cold night when they could be huddled up in their small wooden huts getting warm with their dogs? Though, she had slowed down, she did not stop. If men knew that there was a stray brumby hanging around their hut, they would surely go out and try their luck in the morning.
Flicking her tail, Tamira was on the move again, carefully she moved down the ridge, and cantered over the snowgrass. Under the shining moon, her honey toned mane and tail shown and stood out against her chestnut coat as it rippled out behind her. She was almost the splitting image of her great great grandsire, Yarraman, dispite the white on her face and the white on her lower legs. The cool breeze was refreshing, and although she had ran far that evening, Tamira was starting to feel a little more refreshed and pumped. With a light squeal, she ducked her head and kicked up her heels in a playful buck. The snowgrass felt springy under her hooves, and she carried herself as Yarraman would have moving over the land.
Looming not far from where the mare danced, laid Lake Cootapatamba, shimmering and glittering with all its beauty under the moon and stars. Slowing her spectacular dance under the moonlight, Tamira trotted over to the lake, her throat burning with thirst. She lowered her dante head and took long, thirsty gulps of water, enjoying the icy feeling as it trickled down her throat.

Warrigal, always curious about the world around him, was wandering again. With Warrah, his beloved filly, at his side, the buckskin colt felt that he could take on the world. Catering down to Lake Cootapatamba, the moonlight illuminating the scene, Warrigal sighted a mare. A slight smell of fear rolled off her, and he moved closer, snorting softly to Warrah, "Come, dear one. Let us go and meet this stranger." With that, he made his way towards the flaxen chestnut, asking quietly, "What name do you go by, and of what are you afraid?"

Tamira didn't hear the other horses until they where right next to her, started she jumped away, staring wide eyed at the two young horses. Chucking a sideways glance at the shimmering water, Tamira looked back up at the young couple and pricked her ears as the buckskin spoke. Quietly, as if she would wake a sleeping wombat, she replied, "I go by Tamira. And that I fear is far away, so you do not need to worry o buckskin stallion and mare." She tossed her head and grinned. "So what brings you both here?" She asked, pricking her ears and flicking her tail in delight at the prospect of company, it had been a while since she had met up with any horses, so she would definately enjoy being around them.

Warrah too, was enjoying the moonlight travel through the brush. She was heavily pregnant, so not as boisterous as usual, but still just as bright-eyed and content as she always was. The young mare smelt the strange horse at the same time Warrigal did, and not one to be suspicious of foreigners, or anything really unless it outright proved its self to be threatening, she readily agreed to go meet the new mare. Following just a step behind the buckskin stallion, she caught sight of a pretty chestnut and nickered softly in greeting. The mare's scent had a hint of stale fear, but the new mare, who introduced herself to be Tamira, soon put any fears Warrah had at rest by reassuring them that what she had feared was far away. "Greeting Tamira, it is a pleasure to meet you," said the queerly coloured mare, "I am Warrah, named for the honeysuckle." The pregnant's mare's expression was open and welcome, ears pricked forwards in gentle curiosity, Warrah loved everyone and everything.

Warrigal was glad that the two mares were getting on so well. "And I am Warrigal, named for my wild spirit. We have been wandering across the land, for we are both curious about this land. From whence have you come?" The young stallion kept one eye on Tamira, and one eye on his mate. He was worried that if she did not rest, something bad would happen to her, and the buckskin could not bear that.

Tamira shifted her gaze to the mare who now spoke, she was surprised when she found that the mare was heavily pregnant and quickerly hid her surprise behind a gentle smile. "It is a pleasure to meet you also, Warrah." She quickerly swept her eyes over to the stallion as he, also, began to speak. She nodded politely in return and grinned at his question, "I come from the South." She said simply, it was short and to the point. She flicked her pale tail up against her flanks, slowly lifting her head up to the vast sky. The night was beautiful...it was always so peaceful, and that was probably what Tamira enjoyed the most about it. "Do you both like to travel?" She asked, distracting herself before she sank too deep into her thoughts.
