A young grey kangaroo wandered through the bushes that wrapped around his fur, following the sound of the singing river - he was so thirsty. He followed, nose high in the air, taking in the damp smell of the ground which he loved. Life was good at the moment for Tamaska.
Then the blue river came into view, water gliding over smooth rocks like silk. He approached it, head dipping into the cool liquid that lapped gently against the side of his mouth while he drank. A small splashing sound told him that he was no alone.
He lifted his head up, large ears flapping on either side in the gentle breeze. The kangaroo searched the sides of the river looking for the source of the noise when he spotted a young bay stallion that stood all alone.
"Greeting," he called out to the brumby, not sure on how he was going to react but Tamaska was having one of those days where he couldn't care less on what happened to him, he didn't feel in danger. The stallion had obviosly come down for a drink too.

B O K A R A;; --- [/i] The voice seemed to come from nowhere, and startled Bokara, making him jump a little - after all, he had thought himself alone. His eyes searched for the source of the sound, and rested inquisitively on a young grey kangaroo. He was not alone after all, then. "Greetings wise one" he returned. He held the creatures of the bush in very high regard, especially the kangaroo's. Often enough, they had thudded past him and warned him of man or stallion heading his way, and for that he was thankful. "A fine day, isnt it?" he said warmly, large mahogany eyes sparkling in the pleasure at having company and conversation. His voice was smooth and lyrical, pleasing to the ears. "I am Bokara, and I had thought myself alone on this fine morning, and in want of company" the corner of his mouth shifted into a slightly lopsided smile. He had been alone for a few months now - the one mare he had had in his herd had been stolen, and it was likely she had gone willingly. Bokara was a very easily distracted creature, who often didnt pay enough attention to his mares. This didnt bother him much, he was still only three years old - not yet even at his prime. Indeed, he prefered silence on most occasions, to hear himself think. But of course, that did result in the want for company he so often had.[/ul]

Tamaska's lips twisted into a warming smile. How happy he was to have someone to talk too. "Yes, it is," he said, answering the stallion's comment about the weather while looking upwards towards the hot, blazing sun that would have been burning against his back if a light breeze didn't glide through the autumn air. "Nice to meet you, Bokara. I am Tamaska and I'm sorry for startling you."
Tamaska loved the country almost as much as another other critter that passed him while he explored the open lands and dark forests, often making friends along the way.
"So, what brings you here, O' young Bokara?" he asked him, wondering if he had come here just for a drink or something different.

--- [/b] He grinned and continued "I'm not exactly the ideal mate"He pursed his velvety lips in thought "I would indeed like to have someone to spend my time with, but i'm rather against the idea of stealing or fighting for a mare...of course, i'm not very skilled in the art of fighting as of yet. I've only three years to teach me, and most of those three years was spent alone - me being a little antisocial." He grinned at Tamaska, large eyes blinking quickly. "Despite you not being a pretty young filly, i'm glad to have your company Tamaska. Were you searching for anything but myself in the early hours of this morning?" Bokara inquired, head lowering to speak with Tamaska at a closer level. He felt a friendship growing.[/ul]

He felt sorry for the young stallion as he announced that he was looking for the company of a young filly. Yes, it was quite a rarity to have some mare to just trot up to you and say hello. He was only a kangaroo but most of the time he spent talking to the brumbies. "I'm not sure why nobody would want to run with a polite, handsome stallion like yourself. You will find one. Trust me. Just maybe when you least expect it." He hoped that would cheer him up a bit.
"I am glad to have your company too, Bokara, and no, I have only come down to quench my thirst," he said with a small grin. He tilted his head a little to the side giving him the impression of thinking. "Is there anyway I could help you with you search for a pretty young filly?" He tilted his large head to the other side, thinking again. "In fact... I think I may know someone who would be happy in your company. But we will have to see,"
