A thickset dark grey stallion trotted eagerly through the snow, nose to the ground. He was searching for something or someone. Maluka was searching so intently that he almost slipped on the frozen creek. He gathered his composure after the slip, making sure that know one saw his blunder. Once he was sure no one was around Maluka began to search again. He had come up from the Quambat area after he had heard the rumors of a black stallion that had become almost like the current King's right hand man. The only black stallion that would be well mannered enough to become friends with another stallion instead of kill him, was Tingara. "It can't be true," Maluka snorted, "I thought he was dead." He had hoped he was dead anyway. Maluka hated Tingara and he hated who ever was friends with him. "I give up for today," Maluka sighed lazily and dropped his head through the now to graze.

Ploughing through the snow, the gargantuan bay horse left a great wake in the snow behind him. He was lucky enough to have a thick hide and a thick coat to deal with this temperature, and his body steamed in the frigid air. Not realising he was approaching the creek, his giant hoof hit the ice under the snow. Instead of slipping like the lighter grey horse, his foot smashed right through to the water below with a tremendous crack that echoed through the trees.
Snorting loudly, the Clydesdale shied backward. Investigating the hole with his nose, he tasted the water. It was far too cold to drink, so the stallion left it. Travelling down the creek, he saw the grey stallion not far off. Whinnying to announce his presence, the horse approached with a confident air. He was heavy and well muscled and quite oblivious that he was an obvious threat. But his body language was neutral. He gave no sign of an impending attack and looked at the other stallion with no malice in his gaze.

'Maybe I should find myself an ally,' just as this thought had settled in Maluka's head a loud crashing noise caught his attention. Maluka snorted and jerked his head up to see a huge, no giant, stallion looking at him. Maluka was just about to start taunting the clumsy looking stallion when his previous thought re-surfaced. "Well, well who do we have here? I'm Maluka and that's worth remembering," he said smoothly. If he sidled up to this stallion his pathetic half-brother and his equally stupid 'king' friend would be push overs.
