because terra lies in every heart...
When first the world began there was a law, a law which separated the savage from the gentle, a law which we now trample into this dust... It was the lore of patience. Those who aboded the law were given life, and love and bounty, those who did not, well they were the ones who wrought the land of it's purity.
When first the world was made, there was a being of light and of love. She gave life to greatest of all the worlds inhabitants, the strongest and most feared - the bear.
In her love and her kindness, she wanted so much of these creatures, to get them just. And when her work was done she cast herself into them, splitting her thoughts a thousand different ways. They called her soul. But soul was not alone in her odd ways, for there were her brothers, darker and more intelligent beings.
For many hours they pondered, watching the first of Soul's little bodies wandering the Earth, and it was during these hours that both came to realize something extraordinary. All these beings, these bear - they were tied as one! Every thought and movement was Soul's. And they despised it, rebelled against it.
They knew themselves to be cunning, and that in doing this task they would create themselves a hundred thousand more times inside the bears, inside Soul. And so they split themselves also, Thought and Strength, dispersed into every one of Soul's creations, so that they ruled equally.
But equality was not for the three emotions, and they fought constantly and dangerously, so dangerously that each split themselves a thousand more times, a different Soul, Thought and Strength in each bear - so that fighting became impossible.
Over the generations the fighting diminished, and now the line is dilute, so dilute in fact that the bears have their own power over thought and strength and soul.
Bears are gentle creatures, timid even - but they have their powers, their strengths. For now something new has come, something odd and curiously bright. They call it future, but what is a future, if patience is all but dead?
So, as you've probably gathered, it's a bear roleplay, semi-fantasy, but only in the way that it's not the Earth as we know it, it's just animals. Literate and advanced, and looking for staff like crazy. I'm really het up with this idea, I think it'll be really interesting to start up, so come on guys! Grab you're shovels and start a-diggin'!
