It truly was a beautiful autumn morning. Yallana could appreciate this, the gentle breeze and brilliant colours of the leaves, even in spite of the anxiety she felt for her younge brother, and her discomfort at being in foreign territory. The slim red dun overo filly trotted along a faint mountain path, her mane and tail, twisted pale gold and amber, lifted in the wind and shimmering in the early morning light as she tracked the colt. She could just make out his dark red coat ahead as she silently followed, and longed to rush over to him and comfort him, dispel his lonliness. But she knew it would do no good. Purra was too proud, he'd been driven from the herd in the worst way, and Yallana was thankful for everyday that he managed to travel with his still healing injuries. So she had to make doing with following at a distance, acting as the abused colt's guardian angel even as she herself longed for the company of others.

After the loss of Illoura, Thalera felt he much deserved a new mare to make himself feel better. So it was nothing short of a sign when he saw the red and white mare that he was thinking the right thing. She was climbing a ridge, her slim legs nimble and sure on the rocky path. The stallion was far too bulky to hope to follow, so he lifted his head and called to her.
He was a confident stallion, confident to the point of stupidity at times. But the world didn’t need to know that he was mostly a blithering idiot. At least he was a handsome idiot. With high stockings contrasting with his golden and brown dappled coat, he was a picture of health and vitality. The filly, as far as he could tell, was a good looking specimen. He coat was different enough to warrant his attention, so she should be honoured he might concider her for his herd.
Thalera only collected interesting mares. Or that was the plan. All he had currently was a blue roan, and a boring but doting bay. Each had a foal at foot, but Thalera only paid them the barest hint of attention. Perhaps this spotted mare would give him more luck in building a beautiful herd! He called again, dancing on his front feet. Come down, join me!
OOC: I'm just going to assume this was back in autumn, then I'll make a new thread for spring!
