"Albinos- they think they're so good, just like those moon fillys and silvers. We're all equal or something, what gives them rights to act prissy!" a voice echoed harshly through the freezing night. There was something out there in the bush, something glowing bright red intensely. A lone, young stallion peered out from behind a tree, checking that nothing was around. He didn't want to be caught all angry like this. His red roan coat showed up clearly, and Nandalie didn't want attention.
He believed what he said. All brumbies- to him, where equal. But the other types like silver, moon or sun and albino had a repuation for being prissy and up themselves. It set him off like a bushfire, raging and complaining. Hopefully no mares where around tonight.

Something did hear Nandalie storming around that night, but it was no mare. Garrong had been having a light rest in a clump of trees, but the sound of the red roan’s rampage had startled him quite awake. He was about to move lest he be found, but a few snatches of the lone colts conservation with himself caught his attention.
Well, well, well, interesting. That wasn’t Maluka’s voice, so there was more than one malcontent out here besides himself it looked like. Perhaps it would be worth investigating if it could somehow lead to furthering his cause.
Unlike Nandalie with his flaming coat, Garrong was nothing more than a blurred moving shadow, easily lost in areas the moon did not touch. He did not bother attempting to make an entrance, instead opting to approach from an angle where he could be easily spotted, and stopping at a non-confronting distance out of striking range.
”Here I was thinking I was the only one,” he said acidly, looking the horse up and down. Same age as him, so no problem there if he decided to attack. Garrong allowed himself to drift a little closer. ”The world is better without them. What happened?” There had to be some kind of story, no one decided to just hate strange-coloured horses overnight.

Nandalie almost hissed when he heard another voice. Looking around, he couldn't see anything but the dark of night. Then he noticed a figure outlined by the moon, talking and looking directly at him. Nandalie didn't fancy a fight, he was a bit tired and not in the mood. But then he heard his second sentence, and he realised that this stallion might not want a fight. "I met an albino filly, she had a cracked hoof, a chest infection and you could see her clearly in the night. What a pain! She wasn't interested in a herd, and i'm glad because for a while back there, I was interested in her, but nooo, her name was 'Miah' and Miah was rather irritating," he snorted. Who gave them the right to be the best, or prettiest? "Have you had problems with the nightrunners?" he asked the big black.

"Er, no, not the Nightrunners specifically," Garrong replied honestly, quickly trying to remember where he'd heard the term before. Weren't they meant to be a folktale or something? Nevermind. "My, problem leads more to the cream variety than the white, but from what you're saying they don't sound all that much different. I wonder why everyone else seems to think they're the best thing to happen around here..."

"Thowra is long gone, and most of his decendants too. Maybe one or two brumbies have a tad of his blood, but that doesn't make them the best. Not every king has to be silver!" Nandalie relied, snorting and stamping his hoof. "And i've heard of a bunch of moon fillies around, they're even worse aparently. Bad moods, tempers and a big ego," he almost laughed. "I'm glad I left that filly, I don't want to risk my skin just for an anoying stirrer!" Nandalie added. "Have you had bad encounters with silvers? I Haven't gotten near one for a while, but they still hang around im sure,"

"Oh, nothing," Garrong said dismissively, "Aside from harrassing me, stealing my herd, and, you know, the repeated attempts on my life, I can't say they've done anything that serious."

Nandalie took a drink from the creek. He yawned, and saw the sun coming up over the mountains. "Morning?" he thought, "I must of been kept awake all night," he snorted. The red roan was very tired, and he couldn't stop yawning. Finaly he lay down on his knees and fell asleep, leaving the black stallion.
