Name: Lark 'Cloud'
Species: Brumby x Arabian
Gender: Stallion
Age: 3 Years
Height: 16.2hh
Appearance: Lark was born as dark as night, perhaps even darker, but as time has gone by his coat has slowly begun to lighten. It seems unlikely he will ever be truly white, at the slow rate his coat is going - seemingly content with a roaning of grey hairs here and there, with the beginnings of dapples beginning to appear. He is no small horse, in both height an bulk. Though he may never be as swift as the wind, he will surely be able to pack a punch as he matures. Though his heritage shines through a little in the slight dish of his face, he is far from refined, built more for practicality and strength.
Personality: Lark likes to think he’s the tough guy, and due to some unfortunate events in his child has grown up with a rather vindictive personality. His mood is almost constantly sour, with sarcastic and pessimistic being some of his better attitudes. This mood is also liable to change with the wind, though anything he considers an insult will likely result in a foul mood for hours after. He is a bully, and will bite, kick and generally use his bulk to get others to do what he wants. He has a particular dislike for bay fillies (thanks to the incessant teasing he received from one in his birth herd) and anyone who even suggests his name might be meant for a filly rather than a young stallion. Lark is no stupid brumby, with a keen knowledge of his surroundings and a cunning streak that could prove dangerous when combined with his vicious habits.
History: Born up in the high mountains, Lark has forever been ‘the other colt’. His mother was clearly longing for a beautiful grey filly, her dissatisfaction with another son’s birth written in her every action thereafter. He could never seem to live up to the expectations of his apparently perfect older brother, no matter what he tried. Despite learning every inch of the countryside better, and behaving as he should, his mother continued to chastise and punish him for seemingly no other crime than being male. Showing none of the early signs of greying like his brother certainly didn’t help, as his mother wrote Lark off as a useless waste of time early on.
