Name: Milyali 'Newborn Baby'
Species: Brumby
Gender: Filly
Age: 3 Years
Height: 13hh
Appearance: Milyali is an unusual coloured filly - a silver grulla, having inherited this unique and unusual colouring from both her parents. Her mother was utterly astounded when she discovered her first born daughter had been born grey. She had no grey ancestors and no one to get any sort of grey coloring from. Her mother thought that perhaps she could be grulla; but her colouring was so strange… it just didn’t fit. But none could not deny that her daughter was beautiful; and her mysterious colouring added to that immensely.
Milyali was always a small foal; though her mother thought nothing of it. As Milyali grew it became apparent that she was smaller than your average brumby. Not that this detracts from her looks at all; it just makes her appear dainty and innocent. Her coat is a curious mix of pale silver, dappled brown and grey while her thick mane and tail are silver.
Personality: Mildly timid and shy; but friendly all the same. Milyali is a timid creature, though certainly not to the extent her own mother was. She is wary of strangers, but will not run away when approached by one. She is quiet, and will rarely start a conversation but will happily chatter once one gets going. After a close encounter with man, she regained some of her jumpiness, and is liable to bolt for cover if surprised or startled. She is very cautious of the unknown and has some bush knowledge, though certainly nothing to boast about. Despite her size, she has a big heart and not a cruel bone in her body.
History: Milyali has lead a sheltered life, not even meeting another horse outside her birth herd until she was a yearling. While this may have been the cause for much of her nervousness, the tight nit family atmosphere has instilled a strong sense of loyalty and caring into the young filly. Unlike most young horses, she did not leave her mother’s company until just before the spring of her third year, even after her mother had her second filly. Milyali had grown up stronger in spirit than her fearful dam, and would not abandon her until she was sure the little bay filly - her full sister - was able to care for their mother in the same way. Since then, she has been creeping through the bush like a pale wraith, only travelling by moonlight to avoid detection.
