Name: Yallara 'Long Eared Bandicoot'
Species: Brumby
Gender: Mare
Age: 4 Years
Height: 15.2hh
Appearance: Yallara is a tall mare, with a vibrant chestnut coat and sparse flaxen mane. Her physique is quite well balanced, with a deep chest, prominent withers and powerful hindquarters. Her neck is a little short, but she has a friendly face and kind eyes. Yallara's ears are her namesake - and are large and fluffy, almost like that of a deer. She has long, clean legs with good bone - perfect for long treks across rough terrain. Her face is marked with a disconnected stripe and a snip that extends over one side of her muzzle. She has two rear stockings and a sock on her front right leg.
Personality: Yallara is not the brightest brumby in the High Country, but doesn't seem to realize this. She has a curious streak that at times verges on the point of nosiness, and predictably gets her into trouble. She likes to be included and the centre of attention, and cannot stand to be left out of the loop - often using her bulk to muscle her way in. She's not afraid to throw her weight around, but hasn't enough sense in her head to be an effective leader. She hates being left alone for long periods of time, but quite likes exploring - another problem as she often gets lost when she forgets which way she came. Yallara is far from bush wise, and any attempts to teach her have fallen on very large deaf ears.
History: Yallara was born in the Cascades, and for much of her life has run in this area before travelling with a young stallion and his large band south. She was fairly happy here, however a brumby drive saw the herd captured - by some stroke of luck Yallara had lost her way home and had evaded it. Unknowingly she wandered further and further north until she found herself in more familiar territory once again. She is pining for the company of other horses, and a home to call her own.
