Appearance: Bay tobiano, with all but his left foreleg white to at least the knee. A white trail leads from his right hind leg, and ends in a point at his rump. There is also a white sliver behind his right elbow, and a white splodge over his left shoulder. He has a medium build, inheriting many traits from his mother, while only his slightly convex head shows a distinct resemblance to his father. What he is only mildly aware of is that he "sounds like his father", though he assumes his mother was always just being flattering. In actual fact his voice, especially any louder noises, are almost identical to his father's. [Reference]

Personality: Talgarno is a very serious stallion. He does not lack humour, but he is very rarely excitable or even cheerful. He is noble and fair, and obeys the law of the High Country. If Talgarno makes a promise, he will always keep it. While he might not be overly affectionate, and is slow to build relationships, once bonded he is loyal and caring.

History: Talgarno was born on the west bank of the Murray River. His mother had been lost just before his birth and after a frightening ordeal in the Spring floods, she was swept away in the Murray river. She managed to make it to land, and gave birth to Talgarno on the far bank of the river. She could not cross back after Talgarno was born, and so the two lived upon Davis' Plain until Talgarno was two years old.

His mother was always wistful to return to the Cascades, but she was lost the winter before she intended to go back. Her last wish that Talgarno would find his father, and run in the lands of his sire. He made this promise, and the following summer he braved the Murray and followed the great river north.

It was a year later when Talgarno was four that he was close to finding his father. Then one morning the news came; the white stallion Nevada had been killed. Talgarno went to his resting place, and the first and only time he saw his father was a gruesome sight. Gone was the life his mother Mica had described, and though he knew Nevada and Nice were now together in the heavens, he had failed his mother's last wish.

So Talgarno traveled the High Country, visiting the Bogong where his father and mother had met, and learning the topography of the High Country so he would be able to call it his home. Talgarno is seeking out the mares who ran with his father to try and gain a sense of what the years were like after his mother had been lost to him.
