Name: Jirrigah
Species: Brumby
Gender: Colt
Age: Yearling
Appearance: Jirrigah is lightly-built with slender, clean legs and a slightly upright shoulder. He is long through the back, and lacks power in his hindquarters, and while reasonably fast for a brumby, Jirrigah is the slowest out of all the foals his dam has borne.
Jirrigah’s head is narrow, and his eye is ringed with white, giving him a wild, maddened look. Although only a yearling, his hide is constantly marked with wounds and scabs. On his rump, there is a puckered white scar where a chunk was bitten out of him by an older stallion.
A nearly solid red-bay, the only markings Jirrigah has, is a low sock and wide stripe. He holds himself proudly, moving with a loose, swinging stride.
Personality: Jirrigah is a vicious and bad-tempered young horse. He is something of a bully, often turning savagely on any colts that run with him.
He is untrustworthy, frequently leading the other yearlings into danger. Once, two colts were caught by stockmen, when Jirrigah dared them to go down to the hut at Dead Horse Gap.
While cunning, Jirrigah has no use for much of what he has learned from his dam. He is interested only in fighting with the other yearling colts and provoking stockmen with his daring.
