Name: Gunuwarra
Species: Brumby
Gender: Filly
Age: 2 yrs. old
Appearance: Gunuwarra is almost identical in build to her half-sister. Descended from that same bad-tempered stockhorse, the mare has inherited much from his good breeding.
Gunuwarra is slightly heavier, as her dam was quite a scrubby-looking brumby. Her shoulders are wide and flat, and she has a broad, well-muscled rump. The filly is a hand taller than her half-sister, standing at a neat 15.2HH. Her legs are clean, with good joints and hard hooves.
Her head has a slight coarseness to it that Gurrurrk’s does not. The profile is just a little more straight, the ears a trifle too long. Like Gurrurrk, Gunuwarra was originally born black. However, she has turned into a richly dappled steel-grey. She has four white socks, and an upside down triangle-shaped blaze.
Personality: Gunuwarra is a braver filly than her half-sister. Her dam while lower in the pecking order, was much more even-tempered, and Gunuwarra spent much of her time exploring the country around Limestone Creek.
Having had a run in with a man on foot up near the Tin Mines, Gunuwarra has learned to be wary around them and their huts. The thought of being captured and ridden over the same country she had once run, fills Gunuwarra with an irrational fear.
Gunuwarra does not tolerate a lot of nonsense from stallions and older colts. She has driven more than one off with well-placed kicks and nasty bites. She is particularly protective of Gurrurrk, worried her half-sister will be stolen by a strong and violent stallion, for she is easily intimidated.
However, much as the possibility troubles her, Gunuwarra has found herself drifting up towards the Cascades, driven by an irrevocable force she does not fully understand.
