show pony pictures there - wild ones coming
Name: Toorie
Species: TB x Australian Riding Pony
Gender: Mare
Age: Eight
Appearance: Toorie is a mix of two lighter breeds, she got her height from the pony side as she stands just 14.2hh but she doesn’t see that. Toorie is a well put together little pony, who was bred with a purpose she is light but durable with good bone and even better confirmation. She was bred to preform and it shows. Her coat is a respectable chestnut, no white except the star on her forehead. She is a lighter chestnut but good conditioning makes it shine like a new penny. Her mane will be short for a while as it was freshly pulled and her tail is thick and full but stops at the hocks from being “banged”. Her whiskers are trimmed and feet shod, though that will all change with the more time she spends in the wild.
Personality: Toorie is a sweet mare, she was very loving with her people as she enjoyed the attention and love she received in return. She had a huge heart and tried in everything she was asked, she was the perfect show pony with an excellent temperament and real talent. She didn’t like other horses very much, she didn’t like sharing the spotlight and she wasn’t afraid to be a bitch about it. Since “being wild” she has changed that around a little, she has come to realize that as a herd animal it isn’t about who can jump the highest fastest or preform the fanciest moves. It has more to do with banding together and surviving, neither of which she is experienced at but she is making due. Still slightly high on herself her instinct is all about her, but is that actually a bad thing?
History: Toorie was bred and born on a sport horse farm, she was their top prospect performance pony and she exceeded every goal they had set for her. Their intentions were a good solid children’s pony, something to event but she turned into an open mount very quickly. Yes she was small but it didn’t prevent her from leaping over fences taller than herself. She was a spirited pony from the start, athletic and a little hot to handle but a total sweetheart on the ground. She was sold to a family as a five year old, their intentions were for their daughter to show her but after some time the trainer they were working with decided to trade the family Toorie for her schoolmaster and they discovered a whole new gear the pony had hiding. She was destine for greats as an eventer despite her size she was meant to compete at the top but that day never came, she was ready to show in the open division though the barn fire happened before she could go.
It was an electrical fire, they were adding an addition to the farm when one of the new electrical circuits had a problem, the whole place went up the barn hands were there and ponies were lost, countless horses as well. Toorie was one of the first ponies to get taken from her stall though in fear she went back, though the fire was hot and chased her out again. Lost and scared she ran blindly towards the brush and never looked back. She has been on her own a few weeks now, wandering at first she tried to find her way home but has since given up and is enjoying her new found freedom even if she looks a little out of place and isn’t aware of common courtesy she is determined to stay away from the smell of people for fear she might find mean ones.
