Name: Turt - 'Star'. Formerly known and really called Prisma
Species: Brumby x Anglo-Arab x Brumby
Gender: Male
Age: 7
Appearance: Standing at 15Hh, Turt is large for a brumby and is built more lithe again. There is a slight dish to his slightly small head and he holds his tail high when on the run, two betrayals of his pedigree heritage on behalf of his Granddam on his father's side. Unfortunately the sleek coat of Kookoora wasn't passed on and his is rather shaggy especially around winter.
Coat colour is coal black with white spots scattered on his belly and face, around the eyes -he is what's traditionally known as a birdcatcher appaloosa. His hind legs are nearly fully white, which is the same with one of his front legs while the other only has a half pastern of white. Turt's muzzle is frosted white as are the tips of his ears, mane and tail.
Picture reference: Badly drawn by yours truly
Personality: Growing up as Prisma, the son of the King of the High Country and one of his dearest mares, he was cocky, arrogant and full of himself -everything a prince is stereotypically known to be. He was bold and adventurous, especially with his other half of Burnum beside him.
However, now after many years in exile he's settled down somewhat. For awhile he was a family man and it brought out a serious side better know for belonging to his father. There are still frequent flashes of the same sense of entitlement and coltishness but he has matured a lot since his exodus of the Kosciusko range.
History: After the fall of Tingara, the past king's offspring scattered. In their fear and confusion, many were prime targets for men and other stallions not for wishing the princes to ever make a claim at the vacant king position. Avoiding round up and vying stallions, Prisma fled with Burnum to the south and a land his father had once spoken so fondly about. Before he had run he had had it all planned; he'd take Calca and Burnum and they'd be a happy little mob but before he and the other stallion could find his mare, Prisma was cut off from her.
Another stallion drove him away before he could reach her and so he had to leave her behind and start his journey with half his plan -the better half- missing. However, the same maruading stallion harassed Princes Burnum and Prisma until Burnum could stand it no more. The bay roan challenged their follower and, although it claimed his life, the fight made it so Prisma could continue south unhindered. With the feeling that he had lost everything with his father's death, Prisma let go of his old name and adopted a new one after a passing remark by a mopoke that his spots looked like stars on the night sky.
He settled himself in a valley near Quambat Flat and soon had a herd of three grey mares, all related to the grey stallion that ruled the flat like his forbears before him. Turt spent several seasons with them until he was challenged and they and his sons and daughters were taken by the victorious stallion. A feeling of despondence and despair took hold of him just as it had so many seasons past and something drew the now matured stallion north again. As he neared the Kosciusko range again, Turt felt as though he were returning home but not enough to reclaim his old name and position just yet.
Genes: They're around here somewhere, now where did I leave them...?
Extra Comments: First born of Tingara x Crayola. It's like coming home after a long absence. Hope that history is okay.
