Appearance: A lovely shade of Liver Chestnut, with a creamy-white mane and tail. Alkina is a beautiful Moon Filly by her color and her lineage that dates back to the most ancient Brumbies of her kind. She has a dainty but well put together conformation, and her sleek form takes credit for her capability to exist without notice during the night. She is sparsely marked with nothing more than a thin, detached stripe that involves a minute star on her forehead and a larger snip that covers her right nostril and half of her muzzle.
Personality: As she is named after the moon, Alkina follows the nature of the Moon Fillies with the comfort she finds in the darkness. She enjoys silent wanderings through the night, testing her stealth and improving her skills on her own. Her nature is quite timid and quiet; the way of her herd, but even without much socialization, Alkina has become very smart. Her keen eyes overlook nothing – she notices things that others don’t, and has an amazing wit that she uses to her advantage by turning conversation to riddles. The Moon Filly hides her underlying friendliness with her enjoyment of solitude, and no one so far has been able to draw it out of her. She simply goes about doing her own thing, and letting her free spirit and the call of the night guide her.
History: Back as part of that wretched herd of Moon Fillies, Alkina had no free will – she was supposed to act a certain way, talk a certain way, and age nicely until a certain Sun Stallion whom she had hated all her life was supposed to assume control of her. All that time, she was restricted. Go where the Moon Fillies go, etc. Well! A life like that sounded horrid. Every mare in her herd had seemed to naturally fit in, to follow the plan without even thinking of setting one hoof astray. Alkina had always been different. She knew the younger fillies never accepted her for that, and neither had some of the adults. Except for an idiotic stallion, who pursued her like a constant bothersome fly. No power on Earth could ever force her to obey him. But it wasn't just him - as a matter of fact, she had never took a liking to any of the Sun Stallions she had grown up with. They were all wretched beasts.
So, an idea brought her mind on a roller coaster ride until she finally acted on it - she left the Moon Fillies. The bushfire had been the perfect opportunity to do so, and she hoped that it was fate that kept her moving away from them, proving that she was soon going to find somewhere that she belonged. Of course her mother would have sent that filthy Sun Stallion after her, but Alkina was confident in her abilities that he would never come close to even catching her scent. She currently alternates between traveling in her beloved cover of darkness and during the more difficult daytime to cover more ground, putting herself further and further away from her early life.
