Warring lept lightly up the rocky hillside, carefully placing each hoof on the steadiest rocks and making sure not to touch the impressionable mud that lay between. Feeling the balance of the rocks delicately with the tips of his forefeet, he was able to make his way safely and quietly up the hillside, which is exactly what he had been hoping for. As he reached the top, he stopped a minute and looked out at the country that lay below him, mane blowing behind him wildly in the cool breeze. He could see what must be Tingara's herd way way below him, the horses not more than dots of colour in the green, grey and gold landscape. He had met the King as intended, and introduced himself politely. Now all that was left now was to start building up a herd of his own. For the first time, he felt a flicker of uncertainty run across his mind. Where exactly was he supposed to find unclaimed mares in this strange territory? But he shook it off, he'd find a way. Resisting the urge to call out, lest there be a source of danger somewhere nearby, he contented himself with merely surveying the view and pondering his next move. ----- OOC: hey Tex, this is the thread I created for Warring to meet Kye. I was wondering, how do you want to start their friendship? do you want Kye to maybe have a temporary hurt wing or something and Warring ends up talking to her and befriending her, or she just introduces herself or ...I don't know lol. whatever you want to reply with

A lone bird was in the sky, her small wings unable to soar high like some birds, but made it easy to dive and made her dive faster than any other bird in the world. Like all birds, this Peregrine Falcon felt joy in flying, and flapped hard to get higher, then looked down with microscopic eyes to judge where to dive and how to get out of it when she was too close to the ground. Ah, yes, perfect! Kye made small adjustments to her dorsal guiding feathers, and reached out her wings and pushed back as hard as she could, beginning the dive. The small bird began to pick up speed, and she tucked her wings back in a streamlined position to go even faster. Soon she was blazing down, and closed her eyes for a second to enjoy it. This was a mistake. The mountain side seemed to leap at her, and she collided with a small brumby that probably wasn't even half grown yet. She shrieked in pain, as ligaments and tendons stretched painfully, and one of her wings suddenly seized up. It had been sprained! The bird cried out in even greater pain, and fell to the ground, where she tried to crawl underneath one of the bushes they were next to.
OOC- ^^ much fun!

Warring had been gazing intently at the landscape below him when suddenly a speeding bullet falling from the sky collided with his back. Whinnying in surprise he ducked his head and bucked to loosen the hold of whatever it was that had attacked him, when he realized that a small bird of prey had landed on the ground just beside him. It was she who had hit him, falling from the sky. Concerned, he lowered his head to the poor bird and gently snuffled at her, blowing out softly through his nostrils. She was obviously hurt, and he watched in concern as she attempted to drag herself into the undergrowth. "Are you alright?" he asked. "Careful" he added as the bird continued to struggle "Your wing looks damaged, moving it too much would not be wise. My name is Warring, maybe I can be of assistance to you."

The small bird squawked and flapped pitifully, scratching at the dusty ground with her sharp talons to try and at least dull her brilliant ochre-coloured underbelly and feathers. Horses were supposed to be vegetarians, but who knew? Even some birds ate smaller birds, if they were hungry and were given the slightest chance. She had no prominent ears, but if she was a horse, they would be pinned flat against her head. She fluffed her feathers up and stood, wincing, on her feet. Her eyes stared intensely at the stallion, and her tail and wings began to flare without her realizing it, making the falcon seem bigger. That was when she attempted speech with the horse, but it was in bird tongue, a screechy, high-pitched scream that would hurt the sensitive ears of a horse. "Horssssssssssse! Cooooooomeeee noo furururururtherrrr!" her beak sputtered out, sounding a bit odd out of anger. Kye tried to flap her wings and fly, but her right wing hurt so much, a small whimper came from her beak, and the bird herself looked astonished that she could make a sound like it.

Warring had been gently sniffing at the bird's feathers to gage what was wrong with her when she opened her beak and began to emit that horrible hissing sound. Startled, Warring lept back, his front feet spread widely and braced and his eyes large. He snorted down through his nostrils at the small little creature, he too was surprised that it could make such an evil sounding noise. He twitched his ears uncertainly, she seemed to be trying to defend herself more than anything, though the noise had certainly hurt his ears. Once he had gotton over his shock, he lowered his head to her and took a step forward again, cautiously, lest the bird try and defend herself and jab her sharp beak into one of his eyes, or anywhere else for that matter. Nickering gently, he said "I swear to you I only want to help you. You have my word. I do not wish to harm you in anyway."

The little bird's heart was beating so fast, her chest felt like it was being split open. Her breath came quick and fast, and her eyes began to glaze a little. She was really scared, and the horse was so big... Then the horse spoke, its voice soft and calming. Kye at first hid behind her uninjured wing, terrified that it was trying to hurt her, but soon the voice managed to get to her panicked brain. The little falcon peeked out from behind her wing, and now seemed willing to listen.

Warring breathed a sigh of relief as the bird began to relax and whickered gently to her "I am going to touch your injured wing now, I will be gentle but I need to know whether or not it is broken". He looked to the little bird for permission to touch her wing, respectfully waiting for her consent.

Her eyes widened again at the horse's voice, and she tensed momentarily. The feeling soon passed, however, so the falcon tucked her wings back in, even though they screamed in pain, and stood on her painful feet. She knew she could not fly, even though that would be her preference, so Kye decided to let him touch her wing. Only momentarily, of course. To show her permission for this action, the bird held out her wing. To her, it didn't look broken, even tough it hurt like hell.

Warring gently stretched out his muzzle and very tenderly ran his lips over the wing, it wasn't broken, probably sprained. Pulling back he nodded to the bird "Your wing is not broken," he said "It is however, badly sprained, and you should try and rest it until it feels better. You won't be able to fly for at least a couple of days." He hesitated, wondering what he could do to help "If you made yourself comfortable in this brush, I could keep watch for you until you are better." he offered uncertain what the falcon's reaction would be to his offer.

Kye flinched as his soft nose ran down her velvety feathers, sure that the mighty animal would try something while she was helpless and injured. But... nothing bad happened. The muzzle left her wing after running along its entire length, and she looked up with wide eyes, surprised that the horse had kept his word. Perhaps he wasn't trying to hurt her? She was still scared of him, of course, but that was only because of an instinct that all birds have, to fly from anything that was not prey. Though her wings were damaged, and she definitely could not fly yet. "That would be good," Kye agreed, and slowly moved to lie down in the bushes, still extremely cautious, but for a bird of prey, her actions were almost like she was collapsing into the arms of a romantic stranger.
