Warring was relieved that the falcon had accepted his offer to help. His noticed that she still hadn't responded to his request for her name. No matter. He'd let her rest for now and ask again later. He took up a guardlike position by the opening of the falcon's bushes, and standing with head raised, remained alert for any signs of danger to either of them. There was a sharp nip in the air now, summer was turning to fall. Sighing, Warring reflected that now was the time for him to be building a herd yet he still had no mares. He hoped he wouldn't be alone all winter.

OOC: hmm, let's say it's a couple weeks later and Kye's wing is pretty much healed ok? how bout Warring comes back from a quick grazing expedition (after all there's not much grass on the top of a cliff and he's got to eat sometime!) and he finds that Kye's up in a branch and feeling much better? if you like that idea, go ahead and post with that in mind if not, I'm always open to another suggestion

TWO WEEKS LATER (spooky voice)
Kye's wing had healed over the past two weeks, and she could now tuck it in and stretch it without too much harm. No pain, at least, anyway. Her eyes had brightened as she had passed from child into teenager, seeing as she was about that age now, and she found herself wanting to try something while her friend was away. Bright eyes locked onto a low branch. She held out both wings, one of which felt very weak after hardly any exercise. She ignored this, and flapped her wings, once. There was no pain! Kye happily screeched and flapped them again and again until her small body was propelled straight into the tree. Thankfully, her talons were ready to grab onto the branch as her body went zooming past, and the peregrine falcon fluffed her feathers up to wait for Warring.
OOC- eh... bad muse xD

OOC: lol, love it. can we have some music for Warring's return? xD jk.....
BIC: Warring trotted hurriedly up the cliff side, rushing to get back to Kye. In the past couple of weeks he had grown quite fond of the peregrine falcon and hated to leave her vunerable for any stretch of time. Of course, he had to eat at some point in the day, but after snatching a few hurried mouthfuls in the valley below he had quickly returned to check on his friend. He trotted over the last rise before Kye's hiding place came into sight and stopped on the crest to look for her and make sure that he didn't startle her. Looking at the brush his breath caught in his throat. She was not there. Stifling a panicked and guilty whinny, Warring bounded up the last slope and skidded to a halt infront of the bush. Nosing around anxiously, he could smell her scent, she had not long been there. In fact, he could smell her quite strongly still, almost as though she were very close. Snorting, he raised his head. Now he felt as though he were being watched. Turning his head to look behind him, he suddenly saw Kye sitting on the low branch of a tree, looking quite proud of her acomplishment. Feeling kind of silly, but intensely relieved, Warring trotted back over to his friend and stuck his nose up to touch her gently in greeting "Feeling better huh?" he asked.

She had to hide her head under her wing to keep from laughing at the poor brumby's face. He obviously thought she'd gone walkabout or something. Maybe a fox? Plenty of those around. But no, Kye was just fine, and quickly pulled her head out from under her wing to give an amused squawk. "Yes, and that's thanks to you. Thank you, Warring. I can fly now! If you hadn't guarded me for these past weeks, I'm sure something horrible would have happened to me!" She gushed, actually reaching out both wings to hold his head on either side. She squawked again, very happy, and leaned back, looking as regal and noble as any Peregrine Falcon has a right to be.

Warring breathed out a sigh of relief, glad that his friend was safe and happy. "It was no problem at all, dear Kye," he said "I was glad to help and it is wonderful that you are now fully recovered." He pulled at her tail feathers teasingly, careful to be extremely gentle so that he didn't pull any feathers out. "You gave me quite a scare when I came back to find you missing" he said, reflecting in hindsight that his desperation must have seemed quite amusing to Kye up in her tree. Affectionately, he blowed softly on her face then backed away from the tree to give her space. While the Peregrine falcon sat contentedly on the branch, he began to crop at the sparse grass around the trunk of the tree. As he grazed a thought suddenly occured to him. What now? Now that she could fly Kye would surely leave him. The idea of parting from his friend filled him with sadness, he had enjoyed Kye's company these last few weeks. He hated to think of being alone again. Still grazing, Warring thought about the herd he longed to have- but where was he to find mares that needed a stallion? It wasn't yet the season for fillies to be leaving their family herds, and he could think of no stallion to challenge, save Tingara and he really didn't want to get on bad terms with the King so soon after arriving here, or at all if he could manage it. Besides, what were the chances he'd win a fight against the king of the high country anyway? He'd have to try and find some mares that were currently without a herd and hope they liked him enough to join him.

The pretty falcon squawked again, and rested against the tree trunk, panting slightly. Yeah, her wing had healed, but it still took a lot of effort to stand up straight and tall. Perhaps her strength would return eventually. Going almost without food while her wing had healed was bad enough, apart from the times her friend had managed to nab a mouse or something, but now... she was starving. But hunger could wait. Kye took her weight off the tree trunk, and flapped her wings once, to see how they reacted to the simplest flying motion. They acted fine, but she decided not to fly off right then. In bird kind, it was considered a huge insult if another bird flew away from you. It was as if a human had slapped another human. Some birds attacked each other for this, even if it was an accident. Kye was very grateful to her friend, and wondered if she could do something for him. "Warring? I really want to thank you properly for saving my life... is there anything you need help with?" she asked hopefully. From her experience, male horses liked female horses. She could spy some out for him, or maybe even stay with him and help in times of danger until her debt was repaid.

OOC: ohh, I don't think Warring caught any food for her, horses wouldn't do that let's just say she managed to ambush her prey while in the bush with her teeth and claws and lol, I love the "From her experience, male horses liked female horses." LOL BIC: Warring raised his head as Kye began to speak and listened to her offer, "Oh Kye, do not worry about thanking me," he said "It is thanks enough that you are recovered and that you kept me company these last couple of weeks". He looked at his friend's hopeful expression and realized suddenly that Kye wanted to do something for him, and wouldn't take no for an answer. Suddenly it occured to him that she had a much better view of the surrounding territory from the air than he did, even from his cliff tops. "Well..." he said hesitantly "I don't supposed you've seen any lone mares hanging about?"

OOC- xD you just proved her right ^^ stallions are such pimps!
She saw him hesitate, and watched him anxiously, trying to get the message across that she didn't care if he didn't want thanks. She had seen what happened to wild horses in the bush, or at least, what humans did to them. Now, no human could sneak up on them! Her friend had eyes in the sky! No rope could encircle his neck now, and with that thought she fluffed her feathers up against a sudden chill and looked smug. Then he spoke, and she nodded. Knew it, males liked females. But some near here? Another blast of cold air chilled the area, and the falcon shivered. Winter was coming. Even so, she was determined to fulfill the debt. Her wings opened and stretched, pushing down to catch the air and use it to pull herself upwards. Her wings quickly pushed up again, then pushed down hard and slower, making her rise up again. After doing this for a while, her small body found a current of warm air rising from her friend himself, and used this to soar up faster and with ease. Her sharp eyes looked everywhere, downwards, upwards, even into the sky for some unknown reason. But the cold seemed to have frightened the mares away. Her little bird shoulders shrugged, and Kye soared back down to land on his withers, careful not to dig in with her talons. "I'm sorry, no mares are around here. I think the cold scared them off."
