Nandalie broke out from the trees into the field. He'd chosen a good place to keep his herd and rest himself, because even though he was more vunerable now, the grazing would be great here. The snow had barely touched the shoots of grass, and only made it watery. But he did know that they would have to move sometime, the snow would get faster like it did on Mt Kosciusko.
He stood, waiting in the field for Irawaddy, Coorah, Ally and Omaroo.

Irawaddy followed Nandalie out of the trees into a meadow lower down from the moutain. She paused delicately on the edge of the trees, a habit as she knew Nandalie wouldn't have ventured out had there been danger, then walked contentedly into the meadow, her stride low and swinging pleasurably and her head held high as she looked around curiously. This was a nice place. She walked to within a few feet of Nandalie, then dropped her head to graze on the still green grass. ---------------- Omaroo was having great fun travelling through the woods with Ally. She darted around trees and played tag with the other filly until the herd eventually came to a clearing where it looked as though they'd stay. Venturing out confidently into the open area, Omaroo snorted with disappointment. There was no snow falling here! She was too young to understand that no snow was generally a good thing. She pawed the ground with disinterest, she wasn't hungry for the bitter tasting grass. Omaroo still wanted to play. She twisted around to look behind her and whinnied to Ally "Come-let's run!" she invited then ran off bucking to investigate the paremeters of their new location.
