Warring lept on to the large rock in front of him, muscles rippling under his new, glossy spring coat, and standing out in sharp relief against his skin. He had wintered well, and now he was a three year old and feeling (not to mention looking good). His shiny dark bay coat spoke of good health and strength and the warm air revitalized him after the bitterness of winter. He longed to trumpet his call from the ridge he stood on over the mountains but he knew that would be stupid, at best. So instead he turned to look for his friend, Kye, nickering to her as he saw the peregrine falcon. He wanted to tell her his plan, well not so much plan as quest, and waited impatiently for her to come close enough to hear him. Now that it was Spring time surely he would be able to start a herd, two and three year old fillies should be ready to leave their father's herds and he may stand a chance at charming them into to joining him. Warring loved Kye dearly, and adored adventure, but over the winter he had felt himself occasionally pining for the company of his own kind. Maybe this spring he'd look for Waiirri also. He wondered if Waiirri had any mares yet, maybe even offspring!

The bird had been flying on the thermals, but not as high as she could have been. After all, Warring might get in trouble, and it would be better to have to save him from a closer distance, even if her dive was the fastest in the world. Did you know she can dive at 200 miles per hour? I bet you didn't, or you just checked it up on google. She heard his voice in the wind, faint but audible. She quickly looked down to watch his small form below her; there wasn't anything particularly dangerous nearby. Just a few rabbits, and as far as she could tell, rabbits couldn't hurt horses. Maybe because their heads can't be kicked back at extreme speeds, enough to make her head spin. Anyway. The Falcon dove down and landed gently on his withers, not digging in because that would send her flying to god knew where. Kye squawked in a friendly way, and began to preen his mane, something she did to calm him down if he was angry. "What's wrong, Warring? You needed something?"

OCC: haha, lol. I actually did know that peregrine falcons can dive at 200 miles per hour- I love peregrine falcons and aww, Kye's so sweet BIC: Kye dove down from the sky to land gently on his withers. It was a move the two had perfected over the winter, Warring could still remember the faint twinge of Kye's talons the first time she had landed on his back and nearly lost her balance. It wasn't an experience he wished to repeat, even if it had purely been an accident. Warring was embarassed when Kye asked what he needed, preening his mane as she usually did when he was tense. "I'm sorry Kye, I didn't mean to disturb you," he said "I was just thinking it might be fun to travel around, and well, I was thinking I'd maybe like to find some mares to start a herd. Of course, you wouldn't have to come," he added so that his friend wouldn't be obliged to join in on his travels.

The bird shook her head in amusement at his stuttering, and fluttered her wings to land on the top of his head, her talons safely kept away by his thick forelock. She had a great view up here, but the view was much better from the air, Kye thought soberly, and leaned over to peer into his eyes with her own sharp, beady ones. "Are you saying that you think I might want to desert you?" she demanded in mock horror, and flapped her wings about his ears for fun. OOC- xD muse block, or maybe type block. She might be able to fly up and spy on other threads in other pats of kossie, hm? She could guide him to other threads in other places <3

Kye landed on his head and leaned over to peer into his eyes, "Are you saying that you think I might want to desert you?" she asked teasingly and flapped her wings about. Warring flung his head up in surprise, then afraid that he'd upset her balance, quickly checked himself. When he was sure she was still alright, he answered "No, my dear Kye, I simply do not want you to feel as though you must be limited by my own exploits." OOC: hmm. not sure. the brumby drive thread will be fun to rp with these guys, Kye could help him avoid it! we could maybe combine this thread with one with Waiirri and Doowi. let me know and I could set it up.

OOC- sure! =D The brumby drive will be lots of fun, I can just see the jokes coming from Kye's mind <3 and same goes for the two horses Doowi and Warri.
The falcon realized she had freaked Warring out, and settled down to gaze at the world below from her perch. She tucked her wings in and splayed her tail, keeping her balance with minute adjustments to her tail feathers and weight placement. Heh, this guy was too nice. He really cared about her opinion. She thought this over for a while before responding. "Limited? Have you any idea how many things I get done while just flying above you?" she snorted, an impressive thing for a hawk to manage.

Judging by Kye's dry response Warring gathered that the falcon would let him know if he was limiting her freedom in any way. Feeling better, he snorted in response "Well then, I am glad that you are content." he answered. "I wonder if perhaps we could move slightly south in search of other horses?" He was slightly embarassed to admit his true motives for seeking out other horses, which was obviously to find a filly or two, but driven by a deep-rooted instinct from the beginning of time he knew it was right that he should try to form a herd this year. He waited patiently for Kye's response, gazing out over the land below them.

She had begun to preen her feathers, something that all birds had to do if they wanted to stay up in the air. Preening is the use of a beak to get rid of excess dirt in one's feathers. And for some reason, there was a lot of it. Maybe that was to do with sitting on a dirty horse all day. One of these days, she must make him roll in a stream or something. The dirt was quite ill-becoming of him. She sensed they were about to start moving, and spread her wings, getting gathered up in a strong headwind. She soared high above him, and waited for him to start moving, the great lump.

Warring could sense Kye looking down at him with her beedy eyes, waiting for him to move, probably thinking how lazy he was as she often joked. Snorting he gave a great buck to prove her wrong then cantered off, jumping nimbly from rock to rock on his way down the mountainside. Where to go? Where would the mares be that would be interested in joining him-if there were any? Maybe he should try to find Waiirri first? But for now Warring was simply enjoying the feel of being on the move, and as he finally reached the flat ground he stretched his legs out so that he moved effortlessly into a flat out gallop, his hooves pounding the dirt, just glad to be alive and free.
BIC: problem, I don't think there areany unclaimed mares- poor Warring!
