Wyuna followed the creek on her way back to join the herd, her little foal trotting after her. It had been about a week since Camira's birth, Wyuna had been in no hurry to return to Rezar or the other mares, and the foal had quickly gained stability and balance in movement. Wyuna alternated between speed trotting (at which times Camira had to canter to keep up) and meandering along the beside the water, nosing the new grass that had grown since the end of the harsh winter. She had taken shelter with Camira during that unseasonal snowstorm in a small sheltered grove, but she was glad to be back out and among the signs of life brought on by spring and summer. She called to Camira to catch up, the little palomino had stopped to curiously sniff at a wombat who had been slowly walking past. Wyuna had to admit that her little filly was pretty, in fact she would be beautiful if it wasn't for that disgusting colour thought Wyuna with a snort. Still, not bad for having been sired by the ridiculously nervous stallion. Camira seemed to already have the bold attitude of her mother, of which Wyuna was glad. She didn't think she'd be able to tolerate a coward of a foal. She came to the last bend in the creek and ahead was the herd, the palomino members shining brightly. Wyuna winced as she looked back to see Camira's equally glowing coat, what a silly colour! She made sure that Camira was beside her and was going to simply walk in among them and drop her head to begin grazing but then she decided against doing just that at first. She couldn't resist showing of her daughter, pale though she was. She marched proudly past Rezar, flicking her tail at him- almost flirtaciously, then walked on, past the other brumby mares and settled by the edge of the trees, grazing with Camira by her side. Once the little foal tried to curiously make her way over to the other horses, her eyes wide with amazement at their large size (her mommy wasn't that big!) but Wyuna swiftly called her back. Awed into submission for the moment, Camira obeyed her mother, sticking by the dark bay's side.

Kessa had taken to mothering fairly well. The birth of her colt had been easy and dram-free and having not wandered far from Rezar while she birthed, she didn't have far to come back. Wyuna had been gone for a quite a while, and Kessa was impatient to move to new grazing. Moving down from the Ramshead where Corowa had been comfortable had been imperative once the snow began to lift and the grass up on the mountains was sparse. With foals at foot, it was more important than ever for the mares to have decent grazing and now they had exhausted this particular spot,Kessa was eager to leave.
Nevertheless, Kessa greeted Wyuna on her return with a nicker, and was pleased to see she had a healthy pale palomino filly. At least her mother was the only dark smudge in the herd. Her own colt was a rick golden palomino like his father, with dapples of soot on his rump and through his mane and tail. He was a proud young thing, and had a confident attitude to the world around him. Upon seeing the new filly foal, Thalera trotted over to investigate Ignoring the dam's attempts to keep the filly close, Thalera stuck his dark nose out to his pale sister and gave her a good sniff.

ooc: hmm, well as Rezar is currently on "haitus" shall we say, I may as well reply now BIC: Wyuna virtually ignored Kessa's greeting, flicking only one ear in acknoledgment of the palomino. As she fell to grazing with Camira beside her the other mare's colt foal pranced over. Wyuna pinned her ears back and glared at the sooty palomino. She considered snapping at him with a warning but even she wouldn't stoop that low with a young foal, not on his first offense at least. Instead she pushed Camira round to her other side and turned her rear to face the colt, sending the plain message that she wasn't interested in talking to him or letting Camira play with her half-brother. ---------- Camira watched the other foal closely as he came over, trembling from excitement and slight nerves. When he reached his nose out to her she too shyly extended her soft muzzle but before she could make contact with her brother she was swept over to the farside of Wyuna's body by her mother's dark nose. Taken aback by this swift movement, Camira nonetheless did not complain. She was too young to question her mother or venture far from her side. She simply accepted the fact that she was to stand over there for now.
