Wyuna was not in a good mood. In fact, she was quite royally ticked off. As she wandered along the creek she twitched her tail irritably often swinging her head round and snapping at her yearling daughter to hurry up. Being, by now, well aware that arguing with her mother when she was in this kind of mood would get her no where, Camira simply trotted a few steps faster, her pale palomino coat shimmering as a reflection in the water and only aggravating her mother further. It reminded her of Camira's sire. After three quarters of a year with Rezar Wyuna had finally done what she had been threatening to do ever since day one- leave him. Unfortunately a spanner had been put in the works when she had realized she was pregnant but now that Camira was old enough to keep up she had left that pathetic stallion and struck out on her own. But being so alone was taking a toll on the pony mare. She knew she and her daughter were more exposed and vunerable without a stallion to protect them. And though Camira was already taller than she herself was she was still only a year old and thus not at her full strength. Wyuna snorted in frusteration, now what was she supposed to do?

Nandalie led his small herd along the river banks, taking the journey at a leisurely pace both for his yearling son and daughter, but also for the pure enjoyment of new discoveries. His unshod hooves slipped rarely on the damp rocks at the edge of the trickling creek, and he stopped often to dip his nose to the water or snatch a bite of grass on the move.
He wasn't sure what had brought him this way, though he hoped for grazing for his mares and yearlings. There were many tracks along the banks of the Cascade, but it was with surprise that he saw the pair of mares on the far bank. After a cursory glance around and a quick sniff at the air to assure himself there were no stallions around, he gestured for his mares to wait as he trotted on ahead, the water darkening his russet legs as he splashed through the shallow creek.
As he drew nearer, he realised that they were not both mares. The lighter of the two had the build of a yearling, yet she stood higher than the little seal brown mare beside her. He had assumed from a distance that they were both normally sized, but it seemed one was a very short yet proportionally-correct mare and the other was a slightly smaller-than-average yearling.
He nickered in greeting to the pair, subconsciously picking his legs up higher as he walked. The yearling was particularly interesting. The golden filly was still young, but unlike the two foster daughters he had recently lost to another stallion, she might be more interested in staying with his herd. The little mare was also an interesting anomaly, and he wondered where she had come from. Brumbies around here were much bigger than her.
"My name is Nandalie. May I ask what you're doing all alone with no stallion to guard you?" Had he died? Been captured? Lost? Nandalie did not care much either way. His herd was still fairly small, and the addition of two mares at once would increase its size dramatically. For the stallion who had lost them, he felt no compassion, yet to take care of these two interesting females would make him pleased.

Wyuna was plodding along the bank, lost in her own dissatisfied thoughts when she caught the scent of other horses. Camira, spun around, pretty head raised and watched with wide eyes as a stallion walked across the stream. Her mother turned and trotted irritably to the edge of the stream. With her ears pinned back and teeth bared she made quite the picture of welcome. "My name is Nandalie. May I ask what you're doing all alone with no stallion to guard you?" said the stallion. Wyuna¡¦s ears flickered as she weighed her reply. Snorting grumpily she answered ¡§If you must know, my stallion was a useless lump of I don¡¦t know what so I left him.¡¨ She glared at him defiantly, wondering what he must think of her. Ordinarily she may have been a bit more careful when replying to such a question but at the moment she just wasn¡¦t in the mood for caution. Camira watched the stallion curiously but stayed behind her mother. A full year of life with Wyuna had taught her to keep out of her mother¡¦s way if she didn¡¦t feel like a verbal beating.
OOC: sorry it¡¦s kinda lame. I don¡¦t have time to make it better ƒ¼

Nandalie had to admit he was a little taken aback. Mares could be real picky. Putting on his best charming smile, he tried to not look as daunted as he felt. "Well, if you're alone, why don't you and your," he hedged his bets, "Daughter run with my herd and I while? We're moving to better grazing -- your company would be appreciated." The strawberry roan gave a huff and a flick of his tail.
"I must return to my herd, but you are welcome to follow us." Nandalie bowed his head respectfully and turned to trot back through the river. Reaching his mares and yearlings, he nickered eagerly to the two across the river and started leading his herd along the far bank. OOC: Gah, all my horsies are scattered so I'm gunna wrap up all the threads I can =) Hopefully we an combine a few threads XD

OOC: ok then BIC: Wyuna snorted in amusement at the stallion's obvious discomfort. She was going to simply brush him off and turn away with Camira when it occurred to her that going with him wouldn't be so bad. After all, if he turned out to be as pathetic as Ryu then she could always leave. No stallion was going to stop her. She flicked her tail and glanced at Camira. Really, while she had her daughter with her it would be best not to wander alone. Besides, the travelling life really wasn't that much fun with only two horses. There was no sense of security at all. So, doing her best to look dignified and not at all needing of the stallion she splashed across the river behind him. Camira, surprised that her mother would take the stallion up on his offer, trotted after her. She looked curiously at the horses on the other side of the bank. Maybe Wyuna would like these ones better and allow her a chance to talk with them? Camira had never had much contact with other horses.
