Appearance:[/u] Ryu is a grey stallion. His coat changes from season to season, (As the pic I made shows) his coat is pure white in the summer and dappled grey in the winter. His mane changes too, dusty grey in the winter, and white in the summer. Ryu is slim in build but tall, altough his body is perfectly in proportion. His mane and tail are long enough to flow in the wind and his front forefoot is completely jet-black. He has a black star shape on his forehead, (sorry can't remember the technical word for the horses forehead) and is roughly 15 hh.
Personality:[/u] Ryu is a proud stallion, who likes life the way it is. He is a good leader, and can't wait until he can re-start his herd. The love he feels for his home is strong, and once you make friends with this stallion,you're not likely to break friends. He is a loving, caring horse, with a friendy nature and a love for all that lives. He is fircely protective of his mares, when something threatens them, or if they feel threatened themselves he'll make sure he gets rid of what's bothering them. He likes to see that there is peace in the world and that the mountains have at least one time of the year where they are peaceful from men.
History:[/u] Ryu's parents were about in the time of the mythical Thowra, and told him as a foal of the stories of the silver stalion. When he grew up, he went in search of his own mares, but unlike some of the other colts, he stayed in touch with his mother. The two were unseperable, but when Ryu's father decided it was time for him to grow up properly, he exiled him from the herd. He and his mother still met up from time to time, but then the stallion met Koiji. He liked the mare, or filly as she was then, and added her to his herd. Over the year that he was on his own, he collected a few mares, but disaster struck him when men came and caught what little he had. Him and Koiji fled that part of the country and travelled in the direction of the Ramshead, but as winter truly set in, the two were seperated in the snow. No-one has seen him since.

cause Elyne Mitchell describes Moon and Dawn as silver sometimes doesn't she? and they are grey ("white") right? I'm not sure where the distinctions are, I read somewhere about the "poetic liscense" of the word silver in the books, but I think a lot of light colored horses can appear "silver" in certain lights and it is definately a beautiful way to describe a horse.
