Ally decided to see if she was as nimble as her feet felt, and leaped from the one spot straight to the shore. She landed true, and her hooves lifted again so she was half-rearing one the sand. She lifted herself into a full rear, and waved her front legs wildly, neighing at her best friend and stallion enthusiastically. She landed after a few moments of mid-air showing off, and cantered into the lake after both horses. The water was warm, and she enjoyed the sensation of mud or sand around her hooves. It didn't suck her small hooves down very quickly, and she was able to dance in the lake almost as well as on land. Soon Ally became tired, and floated instead of dancing around. She was fast, and nimble, but she hadn't practiced yet. Stamina would come eventually.

Cobar was impressed by Omaroo's courage, and watched her with a proud gaze as she went deeper and deeper into the water. As Cobar swam out to meet her, she came toward him, and they met halfway across the lake. He reached over and nibbled gently at Omaroo's withers, then struck the lake with a foreleg so water splashed everywhere. Huffing humorously through his nostrils, he swam and kicked around in a circle.
Suddenly a loud splash broke the water's surface, and a wave rose and licked at Cobar's muzzle. Looking over, he saw the grulla filly prancing around in the water. Cobar let out an appreciative neigh, and edged toward her as she let the water carry herself along. As the stallion neared her, he paused, then laughed softly to himself. "You know, I don't even know your name," Cobar mused, then cast an expecting glance at her.

Omaroo turned as she heard another great splah and with a gleeful whinny called to her friend who had taken the plunge into the lake. The whinny turned out to be a mistake however. The black filly gagged as water entered her mouth and tossed her head with panic at the wave of nausea. She soon recovered however, and swam back over to her friend and Cobar none the worse for wear.

Ally strove to stand by Omaroo's side, head held high above the water and tail lifted as far out of the water as possible. She didn't like it being so heavy and wet, but the water was fun to play in. She lifted her legs high as she strode over to the other filly, and promptly reared up, crashing back down to make a big wave of water go flying into the air. She whinnied with delight as droplets sprayed her back, and pirouetted, leaping out of the water and galloping around the edge of the lake out of pure joy. As she ran, Ally realized that her stallion had asked her what her name was. She propped and swung, dancing lightly on small hooves, and answered. "My name is Boorana Alliraa, which means Smoke Daughter. Mostly horses just call me Ally."

Omaroo's muffled gags caused a wave of fear to grip Cobar, and he quickly swung his head around to stare at her. He let out a relieved sigh as he found her still floating above the water, a little scared but quickly recovering. Cobar heard a splash, and this time the wave of water reached over his head, sprinkling his mane before falling back down to the main surface. Cobar shook his head, the light reflecting perfectly off of the droplets he jerked away. He was getting tired now, and when the grulla filly canted around the lake's edge he didn't move to follow. As she came close to him, she answered his once forgotten question: "My name is Boorana Allira, which means smoke daughter." Cobar brightened and bobbed his head at the name. He was very pleased that both the fillies had elegant names, not to mention captivating meanings. "Mostly horses just call me Ally." Cobar's eyes gleamed as he thrust himself out of the water, and gallons and gallons of it seemed to roll of his dappled hide. "That is a name to be proud of, Ally." The dazzling light now hit his sleek and shiny coat, turning it into dappled sunshine as he broke into a trot. Cobar repeatedly shook the water from his hide as he trotted, jumped, and pranced, warming some of the weariness from his muscles. It was good to be on land again. Turning to face the fillies, he said, "Well, would you like to sleep here tonight, or get some distance crossed?" Cobar had just noticed that the sun was setting. There was no real reason to get moving; afterall, there was both grass and water here, but he was open to whatever conclusion the mares came to.

Omaroo followed the others out of the lake, water streaming off her coat in little rivelets. She shook her entire body, spraying droplets of liquid all over and her short coat sticking up comically. Surprisingly she dried off quite quickly, and her coat soon sleeked out and lay flat as usual. She walked over to Ally and Cobar, "Well, would you like to sleep here tonight, or get some distance crossed?" asked the stallion. Omaroo glanced at Ally with a gleeful expression, never ever had the two of them had any influence on where the herd went. Arching her neck proudly Omaroo thought for a minute. It would be fun to travel through the night, particularly as it was still the full moon. And being black...oh the possibilites of mischief were endless....snorting softly she bobbed her head then said "Why don't we keep going for a little while?" a playful glint gleeming in her dark brown eyes. Quickly she ducked her head, hoping Cobar handn't noticed. She flicked her ears at Ally, subtly indicating to her friend that she had an idea.

Ally was pretty tired by now, and showed it by her drooping tail and lowered head. Water is harder to move in than air, and she was already pretty tuckered out from galloping around the lake. The stallion seemed pleased with her name, and she nickered to him in a pleased manner, happy that he was happy. She strode over to be with them, and stood there panting, half-listening to what they were saying. She didn't give an opinion for the moving side of things, but realized Omaroo was up to something, and dutifully fulfilled her role of distraction. She looked around at the surroundings and suddenly nuzzled Cobar between his ears, looking at Omaroo at the same time with a cheeky glint in her eye. "I think we should do what Omaroo says," Ally offered, rubbing her head on his shoulder.

"Why don't we keep going for a little while?" Cobar snorted and bobbed his head, indicating that he was up for the idea. He failed to notice the gleam in her eye. Cobar then glanced curiously at Ally, wondering if she would say the same. He felt a twinge of sympathy for her, with her head drooped from exhaustion. Suddenly the filly stepped toward him, and pushed her muzzle between his ears. Cobar accepted the sign of affection, though he was a tad surprised, and was further confused as she rubbed her head on his shoulder. Cobar tried to not let that show, and instead nuzzled Ally on the neck. "I think we should do what Omaroo says," Cobar nodded in agreement, and started to look around the landscape. Where should they go? Aware of Ally leaning on his withers, he was a bit distracted. But he quickly shook it off and straightened himself out, stepping forward with confidence. Cobar whinnied to both fillies, encouraging them to follow as he briskly walked in the direction of the moon.
