Name: John Opacus Reed
Gender: Male
Age: 24
Appearance: 5' 9", Johnny is an average height, His hair is shoulder-length and jet black which always looks scruffy. He has feral blue eyes that always seem to be watching carefully from under his bangs..
Personality: Secretive and secluded, John - or Johnny as he is often called - keeps to himself. Most perceive him as unintelligent, and good for one thing; tracking. Johnny spends most of his time out in the bush, tracking horses or other animals for wranglers or hunters for a fee. He rarely tracks animals for his own reasons, though on occasion he will follow a difficult trail to hone his skills. He has no friends, and makes no effort to make them.
History: Born in the lower foothills of the Kosciusko range, Johnny spent most of his childhood alone, exploring the outback. This is where he discovered his talent for tracking, and he spent many days following countless trails.
His mother was not entirely responsive to Johnny, having the girls to look after. Jesse and Katie are identical twins, born the year after Johnny.
Johnny's father, however, encouraged his son's skills, often taking him on brumby drives up in the high country. It was on one of these drives - after Johnny had found the elusive herd and the wranglers had taken off after them - that he found the path of a lost foal. The tracks were random, with no particular destination and no accompanying mother's prints. Johnny tethered up his steed (an old stallion names Tally, his father's old horse) and set off after the trail. He soon found the young filly, a small coal-black foal with a slip of white running down her face and a white streak in her bushy tail.
He spent the entire day encouraging the filly to trust him with water and oats, finally leading the little horse back to the hut as evening fell.
He named the little mare Currawong, after the white streaks in her tail and her crafty nature.

Age: 5
Appearance: Coal black, with a white slip down her face and a white section to her tail. Her eyes are a light honey colour, almost yellow.
Personality: Flighty and unpredictable, she only trusts Johnny, and is likely to kick and bite in defence at other humans. She hardly gets on well with other horses, and often has to be tethered separately. She does have her affectionate side, but only for Johnny, he feeds her, after all.
History: Her mother was caught in a brumby drive, forced to leave her behind when the young Curra couldn't keep up. Johnny found her that same day, and spent a long while gaining her trust. The relationship is based on Johnny offering food and affection, and Curra returning her services by letting him ride her, and offering her loyal affection in return.
