Dainty hooves found their place among the swampy earth, neatly discovering small stepping stones of dry earth or hard rock. A pelt of blue roan, shifting among the whispering tree's. Lirralirra was moving from her usual spot of serenity to find someone- a stallion, to converse with. Her sapphire eyes glanced about nervously, not wanting to be jumped by man or horse. She knew her way around the boggy, she'd escaped into its dangerous parts many a time, from eager stallion or greedy man. It was no different to her. Both wanted to capture her for her beauty, and both wanted to make her theirs.
She truly was a thing of beauty. She was small and slight, with a slender body and a smooth pelt. Her cheekbones were prominant, standing out in a defined way that captured the neatness and precision of her nature. Large, sapphire eyes looked silently outward, slightly nervous but also with a hint of excitement. She stepped carefully, gazing about for another soul. None was found, as of yet anyway.

Bingarra stepped carefully through the bog, large hooves displacing his weight over the unstable surface but also pulling him down. Wrinkling his nose in disgust he did not catch the filly's scent until he was almost upon her. Throwing his head up in surprise, his disgusted look vanishing to be replaced by one of pleasant shock, he stopped, watching her. Bobbing his head he nickerd to her, standing awkwardly on the spongy ground. Gah, how he hated this mucky place. He wouldn't be here at all if it hadn't been for the rumours of men lower down that had driven him up this way. He had been hoping to get through this area as quickly as possible but the sight of the filly distracted him. He hoped she was alright, it was unusual for a horse to be out aone, especially in this treacherous swamp.

Lirralirra's small ears flickered as they caught the sound of someone moving through the boggy, hooves squelching unpleasantly. She turned her beautiful head, unsure of what to make of the sound. Should she flee or stay to see whom was coming closer? She steeled her nerves, she had been alone for so long..hiding away so as not to cause any trouble within herds, she was always stolen or fought over- and she hated the conflict.
She stared at the spot where the newcomer would soon appear, tense and nervous again. Moments later, a stallion appeared. His head was thrown up in suprise as he saw her, and she saw kindness in his eyes. He watched her, and she started to feel excited, her nostrils quivered. He nickered to her, and she raised her head in interest- ears pricked forward as she stood tall, although her height wasnt exactly tall. She let a small nicker come up through her throat in return, her voice musical and sweet. Her large sapphire eyes watched the stallion, long lashes fluttering as she blinked. She let out another nicker, this one friendly and interested.

Bingarra watched the filly, fascinated by the colour of her eyes and her beautiful features. He was so surprised to have come upon her that he had almost forgotton that he was still standing in the bog. Suddenly realizing that his legs were sinking farther into the muck he hastily pulled out of the wet and onto a piece of drier land. Staying still for too long in the boggy was not wise and Bingarra chastisied himself inwardly for being so careless. Turning his attention back to the filly he lowered his head, making sure he appeared non-threatening. The filly seemed interested and not too frightened of him and taking that as encouragement Bingarra stepped forward a few feet, coming closer to the pretty blue roan but still stopping with enough space so that she didn't feel crowded. "Greetings stranger," he said, bobbing his head "My name is Bingarra, named for the silvery tree bark which my coat so closely resembles. May I ask what I could call you?"

She could feel his eyes on her and she lowered her eyes slightly, feeling a little awkward. She had experienced this sort of behaviour before with stallions, and she didnt mind it at all, except that she was shy. She couldnt help but feel embarrassed. A sucking sound brought her attention back to the stallion, whom had pulled his sinking legs out of the muck of the bog. She gave a small smile, her light weight didnt sink so badly, although her neat hooves did go under more often.
He stepped forward and she tensed a little, unsure what to make of it. Noticing that the movement had brought him out of the mud and onto dry land, she relaxed. Her large sapphire eyes watched his every movement, sliding over his attractive pelt colour, wondering how it was that he had no other mares with him. He spoke, and her eyes flickered back to his face. She gave a shy smile "My name is Lirralirra, for the beautiful blue wren" she took a small, graceful step forward, wondering and hoping that he was alone, and in need of a mare to call his own, as she wished for a stallion to be hers.

"Lirralirra is a beautiful name-it suits you," said Bingarra, suddenly feeling very self-concious. He wondered what she thought of him, and if she belonged to any stallion. He couldn't imagine why she wouldn't, but he was equally certain that no stallion would have let such a pretty mare out of his sight in such dangerous territory. Bingarra flicked his tail uncertainly before finally looking the mare straight in the eye "I, ah. Would you care for a companion in your travels?" he finally blurted, lowering his eyes but raising them again almost instantly. He didn't want her to think him lacking in courage or respect. He stood awkwardly yet nobly on his little lump of dry land, kind eyes watching the blue roan anxiously, waiting for her response.

Lirralirra smiled shyly, flicking her silvery tail nervously as he spoke, complimenting her. Her sapphire eyes dropped to the ground and then back up again, feeling that if she took her eyes off of him for too long then he would dissapear. His smooth voice reached her ears again and she looked him straight in the eye, noticing his nerves and feeling her own nerves react.
His blurted question raised her heart rate, and she stood slightly stunned for a few moments, happy that the question had been asked so quickly. She focused in him, his kind eyes watching her nervously. Her velvety lips broke into a sweet smile "Of course. You dont know how much I would like that" she moved forward a few steps, small hooves making miniature dents in the soggy ground. "Shall we leave the Boggy?" she asked quietly. Now that she had the protection of a stallion once more, she felt safe and able to leave the secrecy of the place and get into the open.

Enormous, sweet relief swept over Bingarra. He hadn't made a huge mess of this first encounter! He wanted to prance with joy but had a vague feeling that this would appear undignified. So he restrained himself to a happy toss of his head and a gentle, welcoming nicker. "I would be more than glad to leave this place." he said to the blue roan. He threw her a warm glance as he thought over where they should go. Well not back the way he had came, that was for sure. There were men back there. And dogs. No, best to continue in the direction he had been headed. With a slight flick of his tail Bingarra set off proudly, stepping much more lightly than he had before over the swampy ground. OOC: what if the men had been circling this area and they're actually trapped on either side but they don't know it yet? then they could be driven down to the drive and we could join the main thread. I won't let Bingarra be caught but you put Lirralirra in the escapees list so I was thinking that he would stay around the men's hut, visiting her at night and trying to find a way for her to get out. He already loves her lol then when she finally escapes she can join him again let me know

OOC; sounds perfect! Aww...Bingara and Lirralirra sitting in a tree haha I joined the brumby run thread ^^ Ok, so i'm just going to continue here and they can reach the outside of the boggy and get scared by the dogs and men and scatter Lirralirra let a smile slide across her lips and she skipped lightly to join Bingarra's side. Her neat hooves made small pockmarks next to his as they traipsed through the boggy ground. She felt happier than she had in a long time, she could already see her life planned out ahead of her- all with Bingarra. A small silver/blue foal danced before her vision for a few moments and she smiled again, she was glad that she had decided to find someone finally, to come out of her secret place. And she was glad Bingarra had stumbled across her, she looked up to Bingarra's handsome features and didnt feel so small. She was so concentrated on her thoughts and feelings that she hadnt seen how close they were to the edge of the boggy, and she stepped onto dry land without any hesitation. Her petite ears pricked forward as she heard a rustle, and she frowned slightly, looking to Bingarra. Then with a yelp, a dog leapt forward, nipping her ankles. She gave a whinny of fear and kicked out, setting off a gallop, heart racing in fear. She could hear the whistles of the dogs owner, and the sounds of horses hooves- Bingarra's or a tame horse? She didnt know. She let out another whinny, scared not only for her, but for Bingarra to.

OOC: I'm just going to post quickly to tie up this thread BIC: Bingarra walked contentedly a step behind Lirralirra, admiring her graceful movements and the way the light played off of her blue coat. He tossed his head happily, stepping gladly out of the boggy. His happiness didn't last for long however. In a split second Lirralirra had gone from calm to hesitant. Bingarra stopped and in a second he could hear something too. The thick scent of the bog still clung to his nostrils, rendering his sense of smell useless. Skin prickling nervously he could still tell something was wrong. Before he could do anything however, a dog burst out of the bushes, snapping at Lirralirra's hooves. Squealing in rage Bingarra lunged at it, ears flat against his head. Lirralirra took off and with a last swift kick at the dog Bingarra followed her, hooves pounding against the hard ground and mind clouded with terror. The only thing he could think was that he musn't lose sight of Lirralirra.
