Nirrike decided to keep out of the way for now, and stood by the edge of the bush, wondering if she had done the right thing by coming down to the herd.
Doowi flicked her ears about, trying to ingore the other and new mares. She was in shock, actually; one moment she was the only one with Waiirri, next a bunch of strange mares started flinging themselves at him. She snorted, partly in irritation, and jumped when the filly nipped her muzzle. She looked up, and noticed the foal had a mischevious look on its face, and she whinnied in a friendly way. then, looking around to see if anyone cared if she left, Doowi nudged the foal and cantered around the area, flinging her back hooves into the air.

OOC: @yaruka-Yeah, sorry. I didn't read that until I had already posted. Yeah, I could do that. Is the run going on at the same time as this is?

OOC: Latymier- don't worry about it, I was just trying to work out how you were going to organize it this is not set at any specific time. I suppose we could see if someone wants to rp (or just make up men) to come and chase them all of a sudden. Or maybe a dog makes Dinga panic? then she would get seperated from the rest and they wouldn't be able to get to her. when she escapes eventually she can rejoin Waiirri's herd

OOC: Sounds good to me.
Dinga swished her tail and started to feel comfortable enough to start grazing when the sense of danger hit her. Her ears swiveled every way and her muscles twitched with anxiety. A dog burst from the bushed, spooking her and presumably the rest of the herd. So used to being on her own and not getting the protection of a stallion, she ran right toward the danger as the dog chased her.

The dog came out of no where. All of sudden from downwind it burst from the bushes, snarling and yapping. Waiirri, only minutes before struggling to talk to two mares at once now found himself faced with a much more serious problem. Eyes rolling back in terror he kicked out with his hindlegs at the beast. With horror he saw Dinga take off in the direction the canine had come. "Come back! We must stay together" he called to her before rushing to round up the others and to drive them further up the mountainside. Something Warring had told him when they were very young echoed in his head-when chased by men and their dogs always go up the steepest terrain you can manage. Snapping briskly at the heels of the remaining mares and his yearling son, Waiirri rushed them up the nearest incline. Hoping they'd understand and continue without him he spun around, desperately searching for Dinga. Where was she??? To his dismay he could see her no where and with a pang of despair Waiirri realised that he'd have no chance of chasing after her to retrieve her. No, best to stay with the others and keep them safe. Sadly he turned and galloped after the rest of his herd, throwing one last desperate call over his shoulder "Dinga! Make for the highest peak. I will try and find you when I can."

Doowi leaped about a foot into the air when a dog leaped from the bushes and began to bark at the wild horses. Choosing the flightiest horse, it chased Dinga away from the group, towards where the yells and whip-cracks had been coming from. She whinnied, afraid, and cantered with the group even before Waiirri snapped at her heels, which she flattened her ears at. Nirrike, not used to such loud noises as dogs barking, especially at night when they were that close, took off without thinking. She was used to doing so, and skilfully lost the other horses as she ducked and wove through the trees. She called to the stallion once, to tell him she would return, but was quite haappy with being alone again for a while. OOC- bleargh, no muse. ^^ I'm gonna have Nirrike sort of appearing at odd moments and disappearing all the time, if that's okay with you guys. I just need at least one charrie that aint a groupie

Mirrin whinnied in excitement as Doowi sped off, and she quickly leapt after the mare with utter delight. Happily she frolicked just behind the brumby, head raised and legs outstretched. Meanwhile Aruna watched, amused; she felt slightly anxious over her filly being so far away, but realized that was a tad obsessive and so she relaxed. But suddenly there was an explosion of noise and motion, causing Aruna to neigh sharply with surprise. "Mirrin!" She gasped, starting to wheel towards her foal, but she had already made it to her mother's side. Aruna immediately herded Mirrin, who was trembling from excitement and fear, away from all the chaos behind. Where those whips that were snapping? Humans shouting? Horses screaming? All of Aruna's worst fears had just come to life. She felt Waiirri's teeth graze her hindquarters, and though normally she would protest, she was too worried about her filly's welfare to complain. Charged with fear and motherly instinct, she jumped swiftly uphill, keeping Mirrin in tow.
OOC: Who plays Waiirri's son? I thought Doowi had a foal, but he hasn't been mentioned really.

Waiirri felt the pit of despair sink even farther in his gut as Nirrike took off. How many more of them was he going to lose before this dreadful ordeal was over? Feeling his resolve deepen, if possible, further he turned and kept the mares going up the hill. He knew they would probably resent being driven in this manner but for now he had to be the leader and he had to act quickly. They would understand. Hoping fervently that both Dinga and Nirrike would some how avod the clutches of the men and their dogs he kept his ,reduced, herd going up the mountain, steadily drawing away from the danger below. As they reached higher groiund he let the pace slack a little in the interest of the younger ones. He was fairly certain they would be okay up here for now. OOC: Doowi does have a yearling son, played by Tex-and Opal's right, don't forget about him Tex and ok, make sure Nirrike comes back though poor Waiirri doesn't understand why she won't stay with them ;P

Doowi slowed with enormous gratitude, and actually lay down on her side. She was exhausted, and needed to sleep very badly. Her colt, who had been ghosting her all night, lay down beside her, almost but not quite as tired.
The lipizzaner mare stood upon a small rock ridge of a hill, and watched the herd closely. She did not want them to get away from her, but she still did not want to stay with them.
OOC- wow, I have no muse -.- Sorry about that, I completely forgot Ngamudji! Or was it Kurung-Jang? Eh, I'll check later.

As Waiirri slowed, Aruna took the time to glance back. The dog had disappeared, along with the two new mares. Relieved and tired from the hasty ascent, she allowed herself to slow down. Aruna shook herself briskly, as if ridding herself of the anxious moments before, and took some time to feel some satisfaction over the missing mares. No, she didn't feel the least bit sorry for them. Actually, she was quite happy that the "competition" had gone. With a pleased look, Aruna ran her muzzle over Mirrin's fuzzy coat, while the filly protested and squirmed- though Aruna could tell she was just as tired as the others. Finally Mirrin gave in and settled down, allowing Aruna to groom her undisturbed.
