Unimpressed by his frantic yelling, Summer strode over, kneeling down beside him and placing a cool hand on his burning shoulder. "Sssh, you're gonna spook Metro," She said, referring the husky puppy, who was cowering in the corner at the sound of such loud yelling. "She's fine, the mare is tied outside by the corral. Relax, Jazzo. Rest," She added, if a bit forcefully, pushing him back against the floor. "Lay down and stop fretting."

Jason relaxed, unfocused eyes looking in Summer's general direction. He smiled. "Marie's my baby." He said, meeting Summer's eyes with some effort. "Well hey there." He looked down at her hand on his shoulder. "You just can't keep your hands off me." He winked, slurring a little. "You wanna join me, Sheila? I got a comfy spot right here." He patted the floor to his right, grinning as his eyes closed, falling back to sleep after his head lolled to the side.

Summer groaned, shoving him lightly before it was apparent he had gone to sleep. This is far more trouble than its worth... She thought vaguely, heading across the room to settle down on a chair. Summer whistled quietly, patting her knee. The puppy bounded over, jumping into her lap and snuggling into her grasp. She smiled vaguely, stroking Metro's head. At least that was one thing that would never change. Summer glared sourly at Jason before leaning back in her chair and continuing to stroke the puppy's head. Well, all there was left to do now was wait.

Woken by the sound of a chattering kookaburra, Jason groaned. Sunlight streamed in the window, bathing his face in a warm glow that burned through his eyelids. He rolled over, facing away from the window. He mentally cursed the bird, vowing to throw something at it when he saw it.
Bleary eyed, he looked up, hoping to see Summer. He felt like he had the worst hangover in the world, with similar snapshots of embarrassing scenes from the night before usually associated with too much alcohol. Rubbing his hand over his face, he glanced about the cabin for his grudging hostess.

Summer sighed, sliding off her chair. She ruffled her hair, yawning a bit. Metro was asleep under the chair. She glanced briefly at Jason, stretching her arms above her head. "You feeling sane again, Jazzo?" She asked, closing one eye and yawning again. The night had not been pleasant, stationed on the chair and making sure he kept breathing. Summer hoped he would appreciate - but she knew he wouldn't.

Jason settled his dreary eyes on the girl. "Eurgh." He said in reply. "Sane? You look like you've been sleeping in that chair all night and you're asking if I'm sane?" He pulled a face, running his tongue across the top of his mouth. "You got any water 'round here Sheila? I'm parched." He settled back on the floor, putting one arm behind his head and pillowing the back of his cranium on the crook of his elbow. He smiled at Summer, wiggling his eyebrows with half his usual energy.

"... Get it yourself," She grumbled, backing up and striding back into the kitchen. Summer leaned casually against the counter, tapping her fingers against the shoddy wood and ignoring him easily. The young woman needed time to sort out her thoughts - everything was so confusing, and she knew she didn't have the time nor the resources to take care of a dead weight for a week. After a moment, she sighed and wandered back towards him, planting a hand at hip. "I can't take care of you, you know," Summer said in a way that challenged him to disagree, eyebrows raised and tone firm.
