OOC: Alright. IC:
Getting ready to throw his rope now the filly was cornered, the rope fell short when the skittish horse suddenly bolted, making a tremendous leap up what had seemed an impossible jump from stand still. Cursing, Jason pulled back his rope, curled it and draped it over the horn of his saddle. "They're cursed." He snarled. "Its too dark, we can't get her now. Call the dog back, get some rest, we'll track it in the morning." Jason tapped his heel on Marie's flank and the unbridled mare obediently turned and trotted back to the hut.

TEH NEXT DAY!!! OMGLOLZ!
-----
”You’re not going to find her.”
”Your lucerne hay says I does.”
”You don’t know the silver horses like I do,” Woorin argued stubbornly, ”She won’t leave a mark to be found by.” If only he believed what he was saying, Thowra’s teachings had been disappearing throughout the years.
”Doesn’t mean anything,” Sam yawned from the porch, staring intensely at the two horses as they argued. He was tied up again, but was lying as close to the two pens as he could get. ”Trackless, perhaps, but I’d like to see them go anywhere scentless.”
”J.D, besides, I saw enough of your precious filly to see she couldn’t outsmart a paper bag. That lucky jump was just ‘cause Sam scared her so much she got panicky,” Lori cackled.
Sam looked pleased at that, ”Ah, you know how I like to have fun with the newbie’s,”
Woorin was about to reply furiously when the door creaked open. His ears snapped back worriedly straight away and he backed away from Lori’s pen. The chestnut however was very excited, ears pricked and approaching the side of the fence closest to the hut intently and Sam immediately rocketed towards his owner, barking excitedly to be let off the chain.
Granted, it was a little bit earlier than when they had all agreed to resume the hunt, but Jack had woken up early and was getting bored with loitering around indoors. Thanks to Sam, they where all probably jerked rudely awake, but he quickly knelt down anyway and gently grabbed the dogs muzzle, softly growling a ”No!”
Sam shut up instantly at the request of his alpha, but his eyes where still overbright. When the chain came off he ran towards Lori and Woorin, making little leaps and glancing back as though saying Hurry Up!
It was quite strange. Jack had never seen his animals acting so strangely. Lori seemed much more hyperactive and excitable than normal, the dog almost seemed to know what was going on, and Woorin was probably being frightened by the other two. Or maybe it was just his imagination because he himself was rather anxious.
He’d brought out a treat for Woorin to help him calm down, but one look at the colt made him think otherwise. The buckskin was circling his pen again like he always did when something agitated him, and there was no point rewarding the behaviour, so he gave it to Lori instead. ”Woah, J.D, easy,” he said, wondering what on earth was making him act like this. For being both a 2 year old and a brumby, he was normally pretty chilled out.

OOC: Okay so last night somewhere, Nevvy could have found Yooralla after she called and led her back up to the Bogong? That makes Sam's job easier and also means there'll be tracks to follow. We could take them all up to the Bogong thread. That makes for some very fun chases, and poor Brael's all foal-laden. All those in favour, say aye, lol. IC:
Dawn was hardly broken when the dog started up again. Grumbling, Jason staggered out of bed and got dressed. This was why he never brought a cockerel, he could very well wake up in his own time.
Outside, Marie was also cursing the dog. She let out a whinny, "If you don't shut up, I'll let the Demon out and he'll shut you up for me." She called from her stall around the side of the building. For once, the giant might come in useful. Luckily for the dog, his owner came out to quiet him, and Marie drifted back into a contented snooze.
Jason emerged a little while later, stretching and yawning. Grabbing a pick and a brush, he came round to Marie's stall and after leading her out to stand in the sun, he cleaned out her hooves and gave her rich brown pelt a once over with the stiff brush. "Good girl." He brought her round to the front of the hut and secured her to the fence near the chestnut mare.
Marie huffed a greeting to Lori, and watched the buckskin run circles. "If you keep doing that, the legs on one side will get shorter." She grumbled, resting her chin on the warm wood of the fence post. Jason went into the hut to make sure Alison was awake, and returned shortly to tack Marie up.
"We're going to catch ourselves a creamy today, you better wake up sleepyhead." Muttered Jason as he fastened the girth and gave Marie a push to stand her up straight so he could check the tightness. The bay had no idea what he was saying, but she knew today was going to be a good chase.

Alison fell out of bed at the first bark. Muttering to herself, she pulled herself up by holding onto the bed post, and looked out the window. Dawn. Sigh. She quickly put on the clothes she was wearing the night before, a t-shirt and jeans, then walked onto the porch to get a good view of the sky. She squinted at it. Looked like no rain today. Alison strode to the tack room, more awake now, and picked up Jesse's saddle and bridle before jogging to the corral. The creamy was making no noise at least. Jesse whickered several times, wanting to be fed, but Alison shook her head and glanced at the other horses worriedly. Jesse took the point and stood quietly while Alison tacked her up. First the bit, then the rest of the bridle straps, then the reins tied to the fence. Next the saddle, make sure Jesse isn't blowing out, good horse, undo the knot. Alison held onto the ends of the reins and walked to the other two occupants of Dead Horse Hut. "G'day... it's a bit early, isn't it?" Alison grumbled, turning to stroke Jesse's muzzle. Good horse, being quiet.

Marie’s comment successfully managed to make Woorin stop and look at her quizzically. He had no idea if that was even possible, but it was better to be on the safe side. ”Er, thanks... I think...” he said confusedly, and wandered up to Jack to elicit scratches to stop himself from continuing.
Lori was immediately laughing her head off. Holy God in Heaven, he’d actually believed that? The mare darted away from the fence, still cackling, and gave a high spirited buck, sounding almost strangely hysterical, and it wasn’t until Sam barked at her to shut up that she dissolved into silent giggles instead. Woorin gave her a dirty look. ”Nice one Maire, nice,” she snorted, almost gasping for air.
Sam just looked at her like she was insane, ”Oh come on! It wasn’t that funny!” he barked, and an aggravated Woorin resumed his endless pacing.
Jack signed in annoyance and went to get his tack. ”Bah, my animals are officially insane this morning,” he muttered, only noticing Alison as he came back. ”Ah, sorry. I suppose it’s all Sam’s fault you’re up then?” he said sheepishly, carrying the stuff over to Lori’s pen and giving her a good look as though judging the chances of her acting up once the gate was open.
If there was ever a more excitable horse, he’d yet to find them. Lori immediately put on the most angelic face she could muster, luring Jack in. She was probably looking forward to this more than anyone was, and it was in her best interests not to get left behind in favour of a more reliable mount. Not like that creamy mongrel was any good she realised; he’d crack his precious hoof polish and die of shock most likely. She basically grabbed the bit out of Jack’s hand and stood dead still while he pulled the bridle over her head.
As for Damon, he was taking a severe dislike to the whole commotion, and had decided the best way to deal with it was to go to the other side of his corral and give them a good view of his white hindquarters as though not seeing them would make them go away faster.
