Burilda heard Nowego startle, and she jerked her head halfway up, wondering what caused the disturbance. After watching him for a moment, she, too, looked over the edge, now seeing the few corpses that were left behind in the mad run. Sadness clouded her gaze for a moment, and Burilda turned so not to be upset by the matter. Men were such strange things; sometimes cruel, sometimes kind. Burilda gave her head a brisk shake, glancing back at the golden stallion as she heard him speak. She stood there for a moment as he moved away, then swished her tail in a sort of farewell gesture. She was not at all disappointed by being left behind, merely happy in making some new acquaintances. "May the black swan see you again." She said softly, though probably loud enough for both to hear. Then, with a relaxed pace, she drifted into the trees.

Yaruka noticed Nowego's shudder and flicked her tail uneasily. SHe had a feeling she didn't want to see what he had, though she was pretty certain she knew what had disturbed him so. A shiver of horror ran down her spine and when the stallion called to her she more than willingly stepped out behind him. Turning to look over her shoulder at the other mare, she gave a gentle nod as Burilda announced her departure. Then she gracefully followed Nowego, keeping in the buckskin's shadow, as quiet as though they were no more than a trick of the light for which she had been named.
