She saw Ru coming, her eyes lightened but she also knew she wasn 't alone, she felt the other ones presence. He didn't stop running, where was he going? Lifting up her front legs Straijx sprang after him. She called, wanting him to know she was seriously right behind him, well more of a horses length and a bit. Her eyes where flashing around everywhere, strange snorts escaped through her nostrils. Her hoofbeats sounded faint in the rush, her eyes traced Ru, she didn't want him to leave out of her sight. She called to him again, she wanted to run up beside him but she felt drained. But she knew if she stopped so would her heart. It was pounding against her black frame. She wouldn't loose track of Ru. Not again.

Marie kept close on the grey's heels, but the foliage prevented any attempt to lasso the young beast. Finally they reached the river, with no sign of the other man tagging along. Jason looked ahead then, only to see the other man having taken a shortcut and standing in the colt's path. Readying his lasso, Jason pitched it, hoping to get his rope over the horse's neck before the other man. First come first serve!
The black filly had caught up with them, though she appeared confused and more stressed than the colt. Jason wondered if she would make a good stock horse after some calming down. If the plan to catch the colt went south, the filly was next.

Sam’s hunch had been right. Sure enough the other man had chased the colt to the river and as a bonus had brought the black filly with him. He kicked Cas and instantly the stallion geared into action. The bay’s hooves thundered across the small clearing. Sam’s urgent whistles and the whir of the rope roared in the horse’s ears and only made him more excited. Hmm that black filly wouldn’t be half bad as a stock horse or child’s pony. Sam decided that if he missed the nice coloured colt he’d go for the black. That was only if he missed the red maned stallion, which both the man and horse intended not to do.
Sam sent his lasso through the air towards the colt’s neck, not noticing that the other man had done the same thing at the same time. Without realising it, both men’s ropes caught the colt. Now this was going to be awkward.

The colt had been gasping in desperation, digging his hooves into the sand to try and beat both humans across the river; his legs were practically a blur, and he had lowered his head, making it lees of a target. Apparently, however, the humans still knew how to deal with a situation like this, and two ropes whistled onto his neck, tightening from all the jolting and from being pulled backwards. He was thrown onto his back hooves, front hooves wildly pawing at the air. The ropes were cutting off his air, and running only made it worse. Ru finally realized that the pretty black filly was standing beside him; He shrieked a whinny and threw his whole body weight at her, trying to get her to run. Having finished that particular duty, Ru leaped forward once and pirouetted on his front hooves like before, only this time to turn around and watch the humans from his awkward position. He watched them closely, waiting for a moment when he could escape. There had to be a way out... right?

Straijx shrieked in confusion. What was happening. Something went past her ebonite black head. Her eyes followed it. Like a snake it was soon latched onto Ru. She backed up, her ears moving in smooth orbits on her head. Ru was pulling. He told her to go. Go where? Where would she go? She would get lost without him again. She saw another thing attach itself upon Ru. Shaking her head Straijx reared, half in defense and fear. She didn't know how much more fear she could stand. She landed, backing away. Tossing her head warning them away. She was soon behind Ru. Her ears were back and laying on her mane. She bared her teeth in a hiss. She knew she was gaining her confidence but she was so sacred of them. She wasn't leaving Ru's side.

OOC: Yikes, sorry guys! Lets assume a year didnt pass since this thread XD As much as he would like to take both horses back to camp, Jason knew it would be foolish to try and rope the mare as well. Unable to scare off the black mare without spooking the colt, Jason gritted his teeth and looked to the other man. "We have to get him moving. Where are you camped?" He asked, hoping it was closer than his hut.
The wrangler kept an eye on the carrot-top colt, angling his rope so it would still hold him but strangle him less.

Biting back the urge to claim rights to the carrot-top colt in an abusive fashion, Sam stayed quiet. The brumby had a lot of fight in him and it seemed he was a two man job anyway. “Cascade Hut," the man called his answer to the other over the top of squealing and snorting horses.
As the wild colt pulled against the rope, instinctively Cas leant back on his haunches. The combination of training and powerful muscles kept the bay stallion from falling backwards. Quickly the horse’s rider tied the end of the rope to his saddle horn and let Cas do his job. The combined weight of two powerful stock horses meant the fiery colt was going nowhere fast.
“Hey mate where are you camped?” Sam called over the ruckus. Hopefully the other man was closer. Sam didn’t really feel like dragging the colt halfway across the mountains.

Jason's grin was triumphant. "Dead Horse." He was closer by far. "Lets get moving, hopefully we'll lose the girly on the way." Or maybe they'd get two for one. Jason clicked his tongue, and Marie dutifully began to walk, pulling the colt with the rope wrapped around the horn of the saddle.

Straijx stepped back, away from the others, flattening her ears warning them. Snapping out at the men surrounding Ru. She didn't want to leave him, sidestepping Straijx tried to move closer to Ru. She knew she could leave him, she couldn't no. yes she had to, every cell in her body was screaming at her to run. To leave him behind, to leave these men behind. but she couldn't move, Straijx was left staring at the strange creatures with her teeth bared. Her eyes moved slowly to Ru, she felt empty. Scared, what was going to happen to him if she left? That's why she couldn't.

The humans seemed to be plotting something. Either way, Ru didn't like it. He walked a few steps forward to loosen the rope, and gained new energy from the fresh air. He eyed one man on his horse for a few seconds, but suddenly lunged at the other and bit at its legs. He then threw himself to the side, hoping at least one rope would be loosened from surprise, and scrabbled madly at the dry ground.
