Jerome will look back at his withers with a look filled with frustrated hatred,
"These are marks left by the current King of the High Country and his lackey when I came to liberate his mares from his uncaring hold. Unfortunately while I am strong, two stallions at each side and a crazy mare do not make for a fair fight so I had to flee but believe me. I left my mark on them"

Sola cast his brown eyes on Jerome in awe. This stallion had challenged the King? He must be pretty strong to have lived, especially if the King had ganged up on him with his friends. What an evil king the High Country must have!
"I think you are very brave." Sola nodded his head, "the King sounds like a nasty horse - we brumbies may be better of without him." Sola was not usually ones to make judgmental comments like that, but at the moment, he just wanted someone to like him.

"Not to worry Sola, I will soon surpass him and make this a better High Country," Jerome will splash his hooves in the lake, sending glistening sparkles of water into the air, he'll rear and shake his hear calling out his promise to the sky. (totally in slo-mo too)

Sola watched the over-confident dun, wishing he had such confidence in himself. That would probably never happen though, as Sola wasn't exactly sure how to interact around other horses, especially wild ones. He merely stood on the bank, red-brown ears pricked, black legs steady, watching the other stallion dance in the water (in slo-mo).
It was growing colder now, the sun was beginning to dip behind the ranges. Sola considered finding shelter - he'd probably move to the lower ground to look for a warm place to sleep.

Jerome stopped his dancing, shaking his mane to remove the remaining lingering drops of water.
To his disappointment the new stallion did not seem impressed, more nervous looking around him like he wanted to hide. At least this wasn't a mare, Jerome might have actually been insulted but it matters little if a stallion paid him any mind.. why weren't there any mares here?
"What are you so scared of? The man? He wouldn't be out this far."

Corowa had hardly been pleased about having move back up north again, but Rezar had wanted to see for himself if the weather was any worse up here. To his interest, it didn’t seem quite as dreadful, but of course, he lacked the ability to interpret signs like his mare did. The only reason he went so far up to the lake, so close to the site of that embarrassing disaster was that it was that it was the nearest water source. Upon arriving, he noticed to his annoyance two other stallions already there. So, leaving Corowa safely hidden he came forwards alone to investigate.
Both where younger than him, which did a bit to make himself feel better, and the more dominant colt had fresh wounds. Nevertheless, here was one particular detail which made him stop and look in interest. It wasn’t because of anything they said, but instead the bays most unusual feature. A white tail? Rezar had been sure until now that he was the only one to possess that. On the other hand, he dimly remembered another horse the same, but he quickly brushed the memory away and continued walking forwards to have his drink.

Sola was visibly startled at the sight of the palomino emerging from the thicket of trees. He glanced over at Jerome, ears flicking madly, wonder what he should do. As the palomino approached for a drink, Sola coupled back a little on his hind legs, ready to flee at any moment. Despite this, he didn't sense any ill feeling from the new horse. And though he was preoccupied, he could smell an odd scent on the wind - one he wasn't used to and one he would later recognise as that of a mare. He stepped out a little towards the stallion, but remained a safe distance so he could bolt. "Hello?" He called, as if calling through a blizzard to a friend who was lost.

Jerome swung his head to follow Sola's line of site to see yet another stallion, so this was what the other had noticed, had had to escaped Jerome's perfect hearing. This stallion must be quite skilled to approach so quietly but.. he sniffs and snorted, his mare was not. She had not placed herself downwind of them and her scent was obvious.
He strode past Sola, bumping him and putting himself in full line of view of the palamino.
"Whom are you and what business do you have here?" He flicked his mane for good measure and stomped the ground with a hoof. This new stallion would recognised his power if he was smart.

Rezar hadn’t failed to notice Jerome’s momentary attention in Corowa’s direction, and his smart attitude didn’t help things. The poor bay colt seemed rather flighty, and the dun a stark opposite. Rezar raised his head up from the water at a dismissive level to show the colt he was barely worth attention and tiled his ears back. ”The same business as you have I dare say,” he replied, wondering if the colt was going to do something stupid. ”Last time I looked, this lake was not your property.”

Sola looked sheepishly between the palomino and Jerome, wondering if they were going to fight. Being the passive horse he was, his first reaction was to get out of there as quickly as possible, but he held himself fast where he stood. "Um..." He put his nose out a little, trying to draw attention to himself, "I, um, I don't want any trouble." He dipped his head again, ears half-back. He turned to face the palomino. "What is your name?" He asked, wondering if the stallion would impart such information to him, "you have a tail like mine."
